  1. DD, I've had someone similar where it would lose random user tags for no apparent reason. I'd swap the panel out if it was our customer
  2. No don't have to use the bracket. We never normally do unless they are feeling mounted
  3. Pmv the other day. Had one on the wall behind the Keypad. Almost **** myself when it went off.
  4. As others have said any decent company can default the codes and don't know what they are doing if they can't, they cannot be servicing it properly if they don't have the engineer code.
  5. The local company should be able to default the panel codes and reprogrammed it without the need for ADTs engineer code. Thinking about it tho they don't need ADTs code to repgoram fobs that's done on the master manager level not engineers.
  6. Usually on a sticker on the panel Or upload a photo and we can tell you.
  7. Just had one system go pop with the recent lightning up here.thank god
  8. What analogue bit? Some of the dahua DVRs are a full tribrid (fitted them myself) and they will take HDCVI & Analoguge cameras & up to a certain amount of IP cams. Plug and play as well, the DVR will automatically sense the resolution of the input and display the image from the camera.
  9. I've fitted a few HIK systems and haven't had any callbacks with faults. For now I wouldn't bother with IP and would go HD-CVI, still 1080p images and the price is usually cheaper than IP.
  10. What are the extra restrictions of CVI over TVI? As far as I can see CVI give greater cable runs, also offers recording in 1080p can be run on cat 5 or rg59 SDI seems like the one with more issues (from experiance) than CVI. Although I have not use TVI.
  11. CVI can handle longer cable runs than SDI without repeaters or loss of image quality.
  12. Didn't think they offered the digi air. That what I was referring too. Nothing against them, some of the best installs I've seen are by the big 3
  13. As above id say Either have a local Telecoms engineer sort the sockets out And switch from ADT to a local-Taking over an ADT system shouldn't be an issue for most locals. Check SSAIB or NSI for a local company Is the system monitored via the telephone line or are they just using the phone line for Remote Servicing ? Its probably not £1k for a new control unit but it depends on what you've got installed already.
  14. I've ground quite fond of these after fitting a few of late. Not had any major issues with them!
  15. That panel is obsolete now as has been for a while. I'd reccomend contacting a local approved company and getting it serviced. It will most likely require a new standby battery.
  16. Run 1 8core to each device. And screened cable to the keypad. Extra cable from panel into loft space. And run one into garage for keypad
  17. You'll need to check the trigger type for the dialler It probably -ve trigger so connect it to a programmable output an program a intruder or the bell -ve trigger
  18. You need to drop the power to it for a few seconds before setting, we used to fit a n/c button on the bottom of the panel or adj the rkp.
  19. Not sure on the older ones but if you go into zones it will give you the option of zones or rf zones.
  20. christ, at a previous firm we were issued with a small 3 tred pair of domestic steps, for the house bashing stuff, instead of using the fiberglass ones. id just stand on a chair TBH lol
  21. I'm going to go to work tomorrow, bell my boss to FO and I want a cherry picker on every job because the ladders aren't safe. Can't use a pair if snips incase I cut myself. Or enter people houses incase I get a splinter from the cupboard door the panels in .
  22. Well I could have climbed up the ladders and stepped off them onto the roof, but the window was an easier option. So has nobody here taken any risks in their entire career? I'm not saying id Hanging off some tray and fit a camera but calculated low risk IMO tasks are okay.
  23. Wasn't that bad of a pitch, I'd say falling from ladders would have been worse. Grass isn't allways greener , especially when people bull **** you in the interview!!
