    Ddns

I'm with sky and never had the port forwarding get wiped. Why not fit a standard router , netgear or belkin and use that instead of the sky one
  2. Lwillis

    Ddns

Some routers don't have any dyndns options in them. Mainly virgin "super" hubs Try to use dyndns on some DVRs and they just won't update
  3. Check with the Ssaib or NSI for a local registered installer. The system you have is fairley common and most company's should be able to look after it for you no problems. Who was the existing maintainer? (Check to stickers on the panel and Bellbox) Maybe give them a call aswell. Hope this helps
  4. The strobe output on these are programmable from any of the other 4 onboard outputs I'd still advice replacing it tho, panel and Keypad are well obsolete now.
  5. Yeah customer only wants SMS so its either using the panel modem or fitting an SMS dialler. Don't have it on RSS but if you can let me know what it should set up as I'll try it.
  6. Well I never said reputable..... OP -Check the SSAIB and NSI For a local approved installer. If you let us know what area your in maybe we can reccomend someone local to you.
  7. If you worried about someone cutting the line, contact a local installer and ask for ARC monitoring. the system can be setup to set with a tel line fault as others have said
  8. Any ideas what the correct settings are for SMS notifications on a flex? Doesn't seem to want to work the work the g2's do with sending sia level 3. Tried the wizard and it didn't work .
  9. Correct goncall. Sorted the fault and issued quotes for takeovers on other systems onsite. Bloke was over the moon we attended and sorted it out. I'm confident we will win the other contracts off them
  10. We would attend a non contract same day if possible . would be a hihmgher charge tho. In fact did one tonight on the way home.Customer managed to smash an MCP to bits
  11. Also if you don't have a static IP you'll need a DNS setup. if you want I can team viewer in some time and set it up . Let me know
  12. Aye don't use CCTV in the name, single ports per rule. Set the DVR to dhcp , save it as a device with a name and check the allways assign this device the same Ip box. Should be good to go
  13. So have we, apparently their insurer insists on it.
  14. Send it back and get a pro in to fit a NEW panel. The fact it's got users in tells you its not a new panel at all.
  15. Try it with the wifi turned off on your phone. Some hubs don't like loopback
  16. DVR must be setup as DCHP. Reboot both the router and the DVR Check again
  17. It's either s duff battery or a fault with the panel stopping the battery taking over -fuse blown, fault on the PCB etc.
  18. Normally see it on panels that haven't had the baytery changed regularly. IIRC last one was 15volts and a battery fitted about 9 years prior. Showed as flat battery on act tester tho.
  19. Usually find the charger voltage is 15v+ when the resistor goes pop
  20. Resistor behind the keypad which controlled the voltage for the battery. Resistor burns out over time and over charges the batteries.
  21. Seen loads of optimas default themselves and a few with the resistor issue aswell. Normally point it out to customers on a service
  22. This is why diy shouldn't be having ago at alarms and trying to use old kit.
