  1. Is the flashing light just indicating it's in stand-alone mode and the device operates fine even with the flashing light?
  2. You can't have a stable mesh network without each device establishing itself with each other.
  3. With you saying boss codes, this sounds like an 8 Plus or Excel and not just an Veritas 8? If you want to check the codes you can enter them and see if they work, you are likely to only have 4 attempts before a local tamper alarm will occur. Bear in mind if you are poking about in engineers menu and not sure what you're doing you may change the system programming causing more issues. I also believe it's most likely to be the service timer and as the system has been powered down the time and date is likely to be wrong. I would default and reprogram from scratch myself.

  5. Or simply that's part of the route to get to the keypad. I.E the Hall PIR when you come from upstairs to switch the alarm off.
  6. Just because something is old it doesn't mean it's not fit for purpose. If you've got a DM with keyboards and 2060's on BBV alarm boards all over a site your not going to replace it just for the sake of it's age are you! I am not saying don't upgrade but if something is doing it's job well enough and is maintained in good working order I don't see why it needs ripping out. Every job is different and at the price point of DM it's probably commercial, so if upgrading is required it would most likely be in stages with careful planning on kit compatibility.
  7. Texecom have a hold off disable mode for installation and testing, it's likely the bell was not functioning correctly due to this. If the hold off voltage is removed, the bell should sound out strongly for it's hold off time (15 mins) and then stop. It should also do the same if it's lid is opened, or a negative is applied to trigger terminal. It's also possible for the battery to be disabled, not connected or wired incorrectly at installation (seen this fault many times) so this maybe the case if you've swapped the battery like for like. It could equally be possible the bell is not functioning correctly as pointed out way back in the thread, is very unlikely but a possibility you shouldn't rule out.
  8. I'd say even some in trade need to RTFM a bit more. Technical seems to be less "technical" and more guiding numpties how to fit stuff because they want to get off early. Training on the product is the key, maybe monitoring what type of calls your getting and recommending training could be utilised with this new phone system.
  9. That's the user options, I realised in a latter post it was the programming of the output you had incorrect. Output or comms channel if EF should be PA Alarm and not PA Silent.

  12. I suppose it helps if you know all the features to find the "glitches" then... Now you mention it I understand where you went wrong with your Duress. PA Alarm would be the correct output to use for a Duress, PA Silent would only trigger on a "silent" zone whereas PA Alarm is any Panic event including Duress, so that's another "glitch" that wasn't.
  13. When the timer expires (which can be adjusted BTW) the panel will check for tampers and stay in engineers if any active tamper is open. All these "glitches" I here about must be features then.
  14. That's a feature, if you have to do anything longer then the default 60 minutes then leave the end station open. It's better than getting a call at 1700 that an engineers been done a service and left the panel in engineers.
  15. SMPSUs have had a few fail all pre v4, most within warranty period. Elite software wise are pretty solid compared to pre-Elite, I don't have any issues like you suggest. My best guess for your Duress issue would be G3 wasn't enabled on the panel. Not called technical in a long while, but you haven't really said why your fed up with them. I'd guess waiting times is the normal complaint.
  16. Care to expand on glitches and tech support? Texecom "old boys" have setup round the corner if that's what your on about.
  17. You need to prove if it's environmental or the device. Swap it with another or cover it from the environment.
  18. BS4737 was no more or less than 20 minutes. 2-15 minute for EN50131-1. Not sure where rearms are referenced but normally leave on 3.
  19. It could be maintained without parts or labour included. You should inquire what's included when your pricing up. Looking at approved companies (NSI SSAIB) or recommendations would be a starting point.
  20. You'd normally get the fault tone with the battery removed not full alarm.
  21. Sounds like the PSU/transformer is failing or has been overloaded. Had this with 2500 and 900's
  22. It's for exactly that disabling the LED's on detection devices, why would there need to any other application for it? Regulations require the LED's to be disabled on certain installations this output would be wired into any compatible sensor to facilitate this. Even if not required by regulation you could enable this if you have detection in public areas, stopping the ability for someone to pre-determine coverage of an area or device. Specifically at G3 on Texecom this useful output would allow a user to check the masking state at the detector in question and then do the required walk test to reset the sensor from it's masked condition.
