We have an Optima 2 Plus alarm in our house. This morning, the decorator knocked the cover off the sensor in the lounge. Now on the alarm panel, the tamper light is lit as well as the light for zone 2 (the lounge). We have entered our PIN number and pressed reset but the tamper light will not go out. Any advice gratefully received to get our system back working properly !!

I have just installed this alarm system and it was working ok. I had made a few changes by going into the panel box and plugging my PC to it in engineers mode but after making the changes and refitting the panel lid and exiting engineers mode I get the Panel lid tamper on the display and I am unable to set the alarm? I have read the installation manual and I can't find anything about resetting this tamper. Does any1 know what I need to do? Surj.

I have been in my house 5 years and last night the internal bell on my system started buzzing loudly. The only way to shut it up was to disconnect the battery and then put up with the alarm going off -15 mins. We have checked that the battery is charged but now it has been put back, we can only set the alarm in mains failure mode. The unset light is flashing constantly. Its as though the system doesn't recognise that mains power is connected. Can anyone help!!!

Hello over the pond. I had //.National Installer.// install a safewatch pro 2000 and had them monitor it for 2 years. Lightning hit it and after tellling me it was not covered under maintanence, I had them fix it. they put in a low voltage lightning arrestor and my telephones would not ring. I diagnosed, and removed it before their tech came out and I fired them and broke the contract. I have been maintaining it since. Just recently the system went to both keypads giving OC code and alternately beeping. //.National Installer.// must have sent down a code to disable my system. Does anyone know how to re-establish the keypads? Thanks for any help Larry

Dear All, I have moved into a property with an old Veritas 8 alarm system installed. This worked in a satisfactory manner until recently. The property had a wooden front door , which was recently replaced with a uPVC plastic door. During removal of the wooden door, the alarm was set off and the system was reset completely. However the original wiring to the front door is now "open", and the alarm does not work. My questions are : 1. Can the front door part of the alarm system be disabled , but still allowing me to alarm the rest of the house when I go out. 2. Are there simple unobtrusive systems available for plastic doors (junction box, magnet (etc)) that can be use…

Hi. I have a veritas alarm installed June 1997. Last night we had a power cut late at night and even though the alarm was not set, it went off. I silenced the alarm but the internal sounder would not switch off until the 20 min shutdown. Power was restored during the early hours, but the light on the external bell box is flashing and will not turn off. The control panel will not accept any commands. There are 5 zones, 1,2,3 and 5 are lit, 4 is flashing. The unset light is lit and the tamper light unlit. How do I re-set the system? Dave

Our existing home intruder system is 7 years old and includes a Vista 4110 UXM control panel and 5 Pyronix Magnum EP PIR's. It was installed by a well known company who have subsequently been taken over. They also provide the monitoring. I'm considering upgrading to alarm confirmation or dual technology PIR's due to a false alarm that was never explained. I asked our current monitoring company for a quote for upgrading it to alarm confirmation or to convert it to dual technology PIR's. To my surprise they said that the control panel would have to be replaced in order to get alarm confirmation and to upgrade the PIR's to dual technology would cost £495 for five. Also if I…
