dos anyone no how to disable the bell box tamper on the old type veritas 8 panels :mellow:

I have a Veritas 8 Alarm. The electricity supply was cut yesterday evening, I was at home the alarm was not armed. My husband came home soon after the cut, he entered the front door the alarm started to go off and we could not stop it, we tried our code and the reset code but it would not stop, once the power was restored (2 hours later) it stopped we then entered the reset code and it cleared the tamper button. I now works perfectly. Can someone let me know why the alarm sounded when it was not armed and why we could not turn it off. We have had power cuts before, this has never happened. Anne

I've had a veritas 8 now for over 6 years and have had no trouble with it until recently. I had a sensor on my back window and when I changed the window for doors I cut the sensor out. Now when I try to set my alarm it won't let me also I've never changed my battery would this cause any problems.

I have recently purchased a house which is fitted with a Scantronic 9600 control panel. My problem is that on occasion it emits a series of bleeps. These do not follow any particular pattern or frequency. The bleeps do not sound like those emitted when making entries on the keypad, they are of a slighly higher pitch. I have not opened the control panel as yet and would appreciate any suggestions from your membership.

The problem is I have mislaid the engineering code. I have the door entry code. Whats the easiest way I can get into programming mode to reset the password? I have tried powering down everything, but to no effect. ( I read one of the messages for another system and that mentioned a default link which would need shorting during power-up - is this possible with the Veritas?) I have a choride cp2 fire panel and a few days a go two lights come on telling me that there was a fault on the sounder loop but iv checked them all and carn,t find nothink rong? has any one any idears what it could be?
