Hi all. I have a question for anyone familiar with the above mentioned panel. In programming I'm setting up the chime on the entry / exit front door, unlike my previous panel, chime only sounds when door is opened, is there an option somewhere that will allow me to enable the chime to sound on both the opening and closing of the entry / exit door, the only options I can find for the chime are chime 1 (Single Tone) chime 2 (Double Tone) and on or off. Regards, Dave.

Evening all. I have yet another question regarding my newly installed Premier Elite control panel. Question is, how do I program a particular zone to be timed when in part set ? I think I have managed to set the zones I want to be on or off when the system is part set, but I cannot find any option that allows me to program a zone as timed when part set, I can only find either on or off options. Regards, Dave.

Good evening all. Requesting a little help from the good folk of the security installer. I have a pair of Pyronix internal twin alert speaker / sounder units that I'd like to wire into the above mentioned Texecom Premier 24 control panel. I've attached a couple of pictures showing both the speaker / sounder connections and the control panel connections. If some kind person would kindly give me the correct wiring connections between the two it'd be much appreciated. Thank you and regards, Dave.

Good evening all. I've just finished installing the above mentioned control panel at home as my aged ADE Optima 2 Plus was becoming more trouble that it was worth to keep it alive. (As the good folk on here told me many times it was !) I've wired all 8 zones up with a mix of PIR's and magnetic door switches, powered the panel up (Whilst loading the factory defaults) and I'm getting a tamper fault that won't clear on all 8 zones. I've wired the tamper for all 8 zones in a series loop as there are only one pair of tamper terminal connections on the PCB, the fault wouldn't clear although I checked the tamper loop for continuity as I added ea…

Hi, thank you for letting me join the forum. Been looking around for definitive decommissioning instructions of the Eurocentric CP8L system but so far I’ve come up with mixed responses. My setup is as follows, CP8L system with keypad, 2 zones, 3 PIR, door sensor and sounder unit outside. The plan is to update to Pyronix 46 with Lan module for app updates/ setting as doing away with the BT landline and using Starlink. Can I just insert my code to access menu on the keypad to decommission? No idea if installer changer engineer code from 1234 or 5678 Is there a sub menu to disable alarm when I open panel as that will set off the tamp…

I’m after putting a new 12 V, 7 AH lead acid battery into my alarm panel. Off load voltage was 12.9 V at the battery terminals before fitting. A fully charged 12 V battery should read around 12.8 V. When I did a load test, with the panel and sensors pulling 0.55 A, the voltage eventually dropped to 12.0 V before I stopped the test after a few minutes (the voltage fell faster at first). Float charge voltage for a lead acid battery (and from a panel) is typically 13.8 V. So just wondering since the battery isn't charged in a three state mode by a panel like a normal charger would charge it (constant current, constant voltage and then trickle maintenance charge), how long t…

The sounder on my alarm sounds "scratchy" and the volume is increasing and decreasing a bit as though there's a loose connection. Or maybe a failing battery is the problem? Is this the battery that goes into these sounders? My electrical wholesaler says that the battery is nearly as expensive as a new sounder, so maybe it's better to buy a new one if e.g. corrosion on the PCB board is what's causing the sound problem. https://www.hkcsecurity.com/ie/en/products/auxiliary-equipment-wireless/extended-6v-battery-pack-rf-sabb

So I'm going to take my external sounder down off the wall to diagnose what's wrong with it. Maybe the piezo element is failing as james.wilson suggested in another post. Are the settings stored indefinitely in non-volatile memory when I remove mains and battery power? I'm going to have to disconnect wires from the sounder, so I don't want the ends shorting out or have to put tape or whatever over them when I disconnect them. I suppose I could stick them one by one into a terminal block to keep them apart.

I have existing Pyronix Deltabells on my installation and to maintain aesthetics I have purchased another one, although not for use with my alarm system, but to be triggered via an alternative source using a volt free normally open contact to act as a deterrent. Noting this proposal, can someone advise how to wire the terminals and set the jumpers to activate the alarm (bell and strobe) when the external contact closes. I have a separate 12v power supply for the install. The manual for the wiring is here Thanks in advance.

It's an HKC SW-1070 I installed at the end of 2019. I know, it's not a DIY alarm. During a recent power cut, it ran the system for 10 hours no problem The panel isn't complaining about any issues (maybe it doesn't do this, but there's a battery test in the engineering menu. I presume that does a load test).

Evening all. I have a very old but very reliable ADE Optima 2 Plus 8 zone alarm system that I installed some 30+ years ago. Problem is I would now like to add another keypad to the system (Two fitted at present) and the chances of me getting my hands on one is more or less zero ! (Already looked on Ebay, etc) So, two questions for the good folk on here, first the long shot.......Does anyone by any chance have a Optima 2 plus keypad lurking somewhere in the depths of their van, garage, loft, etc, etc, that they'd like to sell me ?, and two, is there an alternative keypad that I could use on this system, and if so, which one is it ? FY…

I bought this solar/battery powered dummy alarm recently. All I want to work is the flashing LED. I connected the battery (which was not connected) and the LED alternate flash was working for around 1 week, though no longer more. I can only presume that the battery is no longer charging for whatever reason? The device has been left i a sunny window sill until installation. Please can you advise how I can fix this to ensure LED will flash with solar as main power source and battery as back up? Thanks

I have a very old intruder alarm which uses an autodialler to contact ADT for monitoring. I am about to be switched to Digital Voice by BT. I understand that I can use an ATA so that the alarm can still contact ADT via Digital Voice. What ATA would be best for this? Thanks!

Good evening all. Looking for some help regarding wiring a Texecom Odyssey XB-E bellbox into a very old but working perfectly ADE Optima 2 Plus control panel. Been something like 30 years since I ventured up the ladder to fit the original Flashguard bellbox which has recently failed. I've sourced the aforementioned Texecom bellbox as a replacement and would much appreciate the kind folk on here confirming what I think to be the correct connections between the two as this would hopefully help me avoid making any more than one trip up the ladder to complete the job. (Several trips up the ladder result in much aching of my, these days, not s…
