May 1, 201313 yr comment_317655 I chisel the wall out, fit a 20mm self seal gland as usually the hole in the back is threaded, squirt silicon in the gland, squirt silicon over the screw heads, run a bead of silicon all around the camera base/wall except about an inch on the bottom The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not) Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/34456-water-very-common-when-servicing-cctv/page/2/#findComment-317655 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 May 1, 201313 yr comment_317663 If it needs silicone it's not suitable. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool. May 1, 201313 yr comment_317664 I agree norm but even if it doesn't need silicone up here we will run it round the camera as the wind and rain can batter a camera for hours. Especially on the east coast side. ! Anyone who doesn't silicon 3 sides of IP rated plastic JBs (no not the bottom Norm) and vandal cameras hasn't fitted enough to understand why we do it!
