ive got a g3 alarm to install but my problem is i need to install a speech dialler.how do i do this? please help

I have been very happy with my alarm but the rechargeable battery inside the control panel has finally ceased to work. I need a replacement quickly and would appreciate any information on what battery I need and where to buy it. I live in Leeds so I expect there is a shop somewhere. Thank you in anticipation. I am new to this game and adding a rear bell box to an existing alarm system, do I need to connect the tamper return to the front box or can it go straight to the control panel ???

Does any one know a way of switching a relay using a output from this alarm. I need it to switch every time the alarm is set or unset but the only output I can find is rated at 10MA. I am very thick when it comes to electronics so please keep it simple. I am armed with a maplins catalouge and waiting for you replies. Thanks, keith

Hi don't know if anyone can help me, we have recently moved into our home and have Inherited a optima xm system, we have had no problems with it until a couple of days a ago, to cut a long story short, we have a far amount of power cuts in our area and generally this does not upset the alarm but this time when we had one the alarm sounded off twice, once have 30 mins and then again after two hours, (the alarm was unset and in day mode at the time) what i am worried about is if this happens again whilst we are out and upsetting all the neighbors, does anyone know why this may have happened and can i prevent it from happening again. help appreactiated minky

I have an alarm system: the basement control box is wired directly into the back of the phone socket in the hall. I have ordered broadband (not yet received) and thought I would check if this would cause any problems. My broadband supplier (not BT) did not ask if I had an alarm. I understand BT broadband will not supply the service if you say you have an alarm. I gather that if my system is 'out of band' (greater than 4khz) I shouldn't have any problems, but it's Sunday and their offices are closed. I thought that if I took the wires from the control box, connected a standard telephone plug, plugged that into a microfilter and then plugged the microfilter into the socket,…

Dear All, I'm looking at getting a simple alarm system for my home. I don't want to spend more than about £400 and will have it installed or could install it myself. I'm currently looking at the BT Home Monitoring system and the Yale HSA 3000 / 3500 systems. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about these are can anyone recommend anything better for the price? Many thanks, Phil

Thanks for your responses on my previous posting. I have started looking around for quotes for an alarm system. I am buying a new house and the sales office recommend a chap who is selling an RE3000s Solar wireless system. I've found this system on the internet and it looks ok. However, does anyone have any good or bad comments to make about this system? The guy will fit it for about £400 and as it will be a new house and fitted prior to legal completion I'll avoid paying VAT. This isn't a monitored alarm and so I'm particularly concerned about false alarms and reliability. Thanks, Phil

I have inherited a Karizma system in my house, and I do not have qualified technician to call upon. I know that this is a complicated system for an amateur so can anyone point me in the direction of a technician in the Sheffield area? Failing that, can anyone confirm how I can reset the panel to the factory code? Is it correct that ADE are no longer trading? What about spares (in particular the ID biscuits)? PS Keep it simple!

Hi. Have been thrust into the world of alarms by purchasing a house with 2 alarm systems installed (Paragon E and Omnichron 8000). Omnichron appears to be the oldest, then the house was extended to include a granny flat, where the Paragon is installed. My intention is to incorporate both areas into one new alarm system. Called the installation company who supplied the Omnichron, who quoted £255 to rip out both alarms and reinstall a budget alarm, with 5 PIRs. would anyone know conections between 9448 and texecom bell box ... all im getting is a tamper fault when connected?. now ive bridged tamper loop on panel and all is ok, so what should the connections be ....? also zone chimes dont seem to work?.. any ideas. ???...

I have always had an unwritten agreement with customers that if there is a fault with the system they can call me and I will be fairly quick to respond. 99% of my customers have been very happy with this, as there is nearly allways someone around who can go and fix faults fairly quickly. Im thinking though that I should have a written contract or terms and conditions as some customers have been taking the piss recently, especially ones who dont buy maintenance contracts but because they know a member of your family think they are entitled to preferential treatment, especially regarding callouts! Hi All , I've just taken over a system with 3 Aritech shock detectors plus 1 analiser , are they any good? any info / diagrams would be welcome. System is about 6 years old , and the whole estate has them. .

My manual says I can use the on board resistor or use external 1k res. I think it is only in reference to an eol detector. Specifically, what is an end of line device and do I need these external 1K resistors.
