most systems have an option to overlay the td info on the image. I assume you have exported it in no native format without that turned on. Always take native and portable formats.

I dont know Texecom gear, but yes swapping the sensor with a known one is a good idea -

As Al its a bodge will work like driving down the road with no windscreen, doors, seatbelts etc, will still work but not advised
