Does anyone know any ways into engineering with out an engineer code or having to factory default the panel? I'm after access to a Galaxy 18, but think its an interesting topic, as it makes takeovers so much easier. I know that on some of the older Menvier panels there is a way of resetting just the engineer code to gain access without dumping the whole system.

Hi, I installed a Menvier TS690 a few years ago. It has got 2 RKP's and was working fine until now. I got a phone call from the customer telling me that the 2nd RKP was making a funny noise. I went round to the house and found the RKP was chirping from its speaker. The customer told me that this had started a few months ago and that it had got worse over the months. I had a little fiddle but it just carried on. I asked her if she had any work or changes done in the house and she said no. So in the end I disabled the Ward Sounder Control link on the back of the RKP and it seemes to have stopped, but I've never come across this problem before. Has anyone ever had this…

We as a company are a bit green with UDL, now using local connection for programming etc, no more standing in front of the RKP for hrs lol. Anyway, we use RSs, Cooper UDL and Wintex. Now, say I come to a take over, I have the manager code. Open panel, set off tamper. If no passwords are set up, can I grab the data off the panel? Say there is a Premier with the NVM locked but no passwords set up, again can we gain access? Gaz

  7. Evening. Just wondered if anyone can point me in the direction of a good supplier for a replacement step down transformer from an Accenta G3 panel which has died on me?! Funnily enough this is the only the second one that has gone. The first one overheated and I don't know why. These panels are great and normally cause me no pain! Supplier in North West or City of London gratefully received. Will consider postal supplier too. Off to check RS but any info would be great. Thanks Billy

I was at a meeting last week where it appears to get approval to a certain standard the test houses are insisting we use FR type batteries. They are insisting that the panel manufactures put this as a requirement in their manuals. If they do that then we will have to as the inspectorates will inspect to the content of the manual. What do we think?

Hi Lad's (and girls) Some companies unfortunately have gone out of business over the past few years (Redcot) to name but one. When we get a call to take over their systems from frustrated customers we find they have always locked in their eng code. The customers grimace when we say "you need a new Panel" do we have a forum where old eng codes are available? Brev )

Hi guys, Am I right in thinking a Visonic Powermax+ uses a 9.6v 2200nAh onboard battery in the panel? Thanks.

Had a disaster on our udl server before the breakup. Unfortunatly i have backups of the castle UDL data, but not the install application. Anyone either have it, or know a loin so i can get it from castle? The last version i had was a beta version that allowed moving of data between panel s/w version. Unknown what the version was. Thanks

After a recent incident involving a locked Veritas panel and a very angry customer, is it really worth trying to default domestic panels that can be locked? I believe you can test/check everything that you need to without the engineer code, its just a lot nosier this way lol Stewart

Had a callout today, customer with node missing... Event log showed the 3 nodes removed and added on several occasions over the past few days. All 3 nodes are wired in star (1 local to panel, others remote with local psus for Pirs). In the past I've had individual nodes missing from Psu failures but not all 3 at once. I've changed the Node fuse (if it was on its way out) but can't think of anything else common to all 3 nodes. Anybody had a similar problem?
