Hi There I'm new to this forum so please be gentle with me, I work for a company called lenstronic based in the pontefract area. Be around the security industry since 1996 in various rolls, workshop manager for a company huddersfield, then moved to Grundig as a sales manager, then on to a fibre optics manuafcturer as a sales manager, but my heart belongs in engineering, before comming to the CCTV & security industry I was a TV & Video industry. Thanks for reading and all the best to everyone

I have worked in the security industry for 10 years. The company I used to work for is an electrical company that started doing alarms and got heavily into them. They had over 450 maintenance contracts and are doing approximately 2 installs takeovers a week. They only did alarms though. So while i got a lot of experience doing alarms I didn't get any in other fields. I feel I have a very good knowledge of intruder alarms and was never put off by takeovers of older systems. I have a pretty comprehensive catalogue of engineering manuals. However on moving to my new job they do CCTV and access control which i am really interetsed in getting involved in. I am a big geek a…

Hi to everyone, thought It's only polite to introduce myself to you before I start requesting your help!! My name is Chris and have a very varied electronic/electrical and mechanical background. I am not going to see 40 again and am going quite grey. I came across this forum by chance and decided to join as it is a very handy to have support about products you may not know the in's and out's of. Thank you for letting me join and also for providing this forum.

  4. Hi everyone, I'm new here. I just noticed last week when a customers alarm went off in the middle of the night, that the Scantronic 9853 dosent show the activated zone until it is deactivated! This is a problem for the client when he is working away, for the safety of his wife. If she knows someone has broken in upstairs and activated the landing PIR, then she doesn't want to deactivate the alarm, so if the burglar enters the bedroom, it will cause a full alarm, and the Master Blasters will be activated without her having to press a panic button. I find it amazing that the 9940 keypads don't display this information on activation, which is really useful to know if the…

Hi, just found this site. I could bore you with my life in the security industry going back to 1968 but it will probably send you to sleep. As a word of encouragement to anyone unsure whether to go out on their own, in the late 60s I was fitting a PA button in a director of AFA office, when he said to me there is a lot of money to be made in this industry, he was right from the mid 70s I built up two companies and sold them both making a nice income. Not quiet yet a pensioner I have retired to the island of Menorca enjoying the seven months of continuous sunshine and a completely different life style to the UK. I'm happy to give any information and advice on the older a…

Hello i got a Honeywell Domonial Alarm system. I am trying to figure out how to a part set only one PIR of for intruder, the other PIR to say tell you to disarm the system and the other PIR to do nothing on a part arm but the all of them to work on a full arm. Honeywell sent me the latest TCU coding but i admit its a little bit complex and i am technically minded. I just need to know the referencing (I don't need the coding as i got it all on paper work). IE: Total set, partial set, mixed, 24/24 and immediate, delayed, mixed, exit door and intrusion, technical, Pre-alarm, Perimeter, counter, fire, driver. I'm going by the manual. So i would really help if you guys or gir…
