Hello I am fairly new to this game, I work directly for the NHS and unusually in the ICT department but my entire role consists of - CCTV,Door Access Systems,RFID systems. I use a system called Elpas for RFID tracking , staff attack and baby alerts, Avermedia and Dowshu for CCTV (mainly avermedia these days),Vis-Axs and Paxton for door access control. I also seem to end up fixing emergency release mechanisms, maglocks, power supplies etc a fair amount. An unusual job for someone under the ICT banner but I enjoy it and have joined to learn a bit more to help me at work.

I have been in and around the industry for approx 15 years and also worked as Area Sales Manager for Cooper Security, Manufactures of Scantronic and Menvier systems. As well as a position as an Engineer i would also look to return as a sales executive with a strong sales background and some impressive sales figures. I have a full Clean driving license and currently live in the Lydney area. Many Thanks Karl Karl welcome to the Forum please read the rules before posting thanks

I sent a trade member vetting request, But I wasn't sure if it will go through ok because I registered my username through my company email address but sent the vetting request from my personal email address but included my username and company email address. The reason being is my employer explicitly says not to expect any privacy from the company email and they reserve the right to read my emails unannounced at any time. I wasn't sure if they would be too pleased about sending a scan of my ID to an unconfirmed third party. Will my vetting request still be received or does the forum software ignore requests from unregistered email addresses?

Hi, I am an electronic engineer and work for a company that specialises in wireless communications equipment including perimeter security and remote sensors. I am looking at electromagnetic compatibility between transmitters and wireless and wired alarm systems. I also have some previous experience of installing both wired and wireless alarm systems. I am looking to specify an alarm system that will work in close proximity to some of our transmitting equipment. Currently, I am considering the Texecom ricochet system. I understand that wireless alarms generally use the 868 MHz IMS band and that CE marked equipment 'should' have undergone EMC testing and so should have …

Hi there, Could anyone help me with this. I have purchased a USB to Serial converter as my laptop only has USB ports. Honeywell (who don't move with the times) have no USB port so I have to connect with the RS232 port on board. My USB to serial converter does not work. I have had 3 recommendations for converters but I would like to hear from someone who has actually got one working. It worked great on my old laptop with on board comm port so its not the settings. I have been fitting Galaxy for about 15 years now but this one has got me and the tech people never answer the phone. Any help would be great. Regards DBS

Hi, Stumbled upon this forum by accident - but its one of those accidents that aren't painful Found some really useful stuff here - wish I had been a member much earlier! Back in 1999, my brother installed a ADE Karizma Plus alarm system in my place, with Pyronix PIRs & an external sounder, panic buttons and door contacts - I was the tea boy and didn't really pay attention to the installation procedure or how the system was wired or initiated. In 2008, the keypad displayed 'Low Battery' and so I decided to investigate. Between 1999 and 2008 the only problem I encountered was the keypad wearing on the digits used for the codes, so much so that I changed the code …
