  1. Im worried about mine now James are they attacking SME's?
  2. Temporary install, whilst first fixing the cables for the permanent system
  3. We rent videofied for void sites and building sites
  4. Pat are you planning on building in the loft? If not then I would strongly recommend that you speak to three installers in your area. Wireless is a lot better than it was ten years ago but in the case of a new build I would get it wired, and the same for an already built bungalow you would not see any cables if the system is installed by a professional. Wired is always better than wireless even if you only take into account the money you save on batteries each year. I would only ever install wireless where it is not possible to hard wire without hiding the cables
  5. My bad didnt see Matts post....that said James never bothered either, Ive upgraded you Mike
  6. Looking for employees not subbies we already have enough subbies sorry
  7. Courses are not the best way to learn how to install hard wired IMHO. You cant teach lifting the right floorboard or drilling angles, or hiding cables, ect ect in a classroom. If I wanted to learn this industry I would approach all the local co's and see if they want an apprentice. You are willing to pay for training courses so I guess you wouldnt mind getting paid to learn even if it was a low wage. If you already have experience of wireless and CCTV you already have something to offer a potential employer. Depending how fast you pick it up you could be a good engineer in six months
  8. QFA I dont think I would want to rely on neighbors hearing my bells and then coming to investigate if it was a real burglary or not. I am sure they wouldnt
  9. Doc wants her to have a full two weeks of Jeremy Kyle this will make sure that she fully catch's up on her three weeks off
  10. They were doing it 10 years ago, that lot along with BT wholesale now wont take any calls from anyone unless theyre buying. If I want to talk to sales people then Ill call them
  11. Do your doors/windows fall open when trains go by? The force required to open a locked door/window would be much higher than any non local siesmic events. So as long as the detectors are set up correctly they will be fine
  12. Squeaky brakes will cause a problem, plus the fact that double glazing is unlikely to be smashed for entry when there are much easier ways of getting in. I would go down the route of siesmics/vibration detectors if you want perimeter detection.
  13. Wheres the fire? Welcome Norman
  14. Hi Mike and welcome May well be worth you applying for trade here there is much more in the trade area
  15. Im using Mobi Data now £4.95 inc pm for 2gb seems to be the cheapest around by far no annoying ads and it uses 3
  16. £10 pcm no call charges? are you paying less than £10pm on mobile calls currently? Also if you dont make enough calls to warrant the sim what makes you think you're going need to call two mobiles at the same time?
  17. Bosch Bluelines are the only pet tolerant detectors I would use, some would say the Texe is ok I cant really comment as we dont use it Optex is good
  18. There used to be a Modem type thingy that you put a sim card in that connected to you pabx and everytime you dialed an 07 it used the modem all other numbers used the standard line. Cant you do something like that?
  19. I was fitting those nye on twenty five years ago. If it is/was monitored then you would be best off getting the alarm company out because its not the easiest panel to sort out when a reset is required. If its not and never has been monitored then you could move the sensor, the alarm will go offf when you start tampering but just put your code in the stop it and to reset it when youve finished just set the alarm. If it all goes wrong dont blame me I would recommend you get an engineer out in the first place if you have any doubts this panel is not a DIY system
  20. LOL! I think thats the easiest solution either that or a new camera and use the old one indoors
  21. Hi and welcome Give Ian a call at The Alarming Company 01329-314444
  22. It is the same its not as simple as a plug and play replacement, but is a direct replacement. Though one word of caution it is as old as the keypad that its replacing,
