  1. Experienced installation engineers required good package for the right people We are based in West Sussex and operate in Sussex-Surrey-Hampshire and South London PM me for more details
  2. Hi Paul Welcome to the forum. Sorry about the flack, but getting a sparky to fit what is considered as a non diy product, is a bit like going on a sparky website and saying I'm gonna get my burglar alarm engineer to rewire my house what cable do you recommend. Honeywell are unlikely to answer your emails other than directing you to an installer. I cant say for sure because I dont install Galaxy anymore but I think it unlikely that the panel will have a dialler or text dialler the market it is aimed at is monitored but through an alarm receiving centre. No disrespect intended here, but if you want to do it yourself or save money, get your sparks to install a diy system readily available and intended for diy install. If you really want a professional system then I'm afraid you need to get someone that installs these systems daily
  3. Pyronix Paragon Why make a secret code to get out of engineer ???
  4. LOL sounds like a plan for disaster, I would always recommend you choose the company rather than the panel, whoever you felt answered your questions most professionally, and you were most happy with. Find out if the panel they have proposed is the best one they do, we offer the CPX as a budget and HKC as the premium panel for domestics, sometimes I will talk about both panels at the survey sometimes just the CPX or HKC depending on the risk assessment and type of property, Truth be told all modern alarm panels are good it really depends on the bells and whistles that you may or ,may never use
  5. God how many quotes have you had?? You are only muddying the water by getting more than three quotes
  6. It would be down to personal opinion nothing wrong with the Eurosec we sell loads of them its all about budget, the Eurosec does what it says on the box. 10 years ago the Galaxy would of been undisputed leader. I dont think they are quite as good as they once were. and there are plenty of contenders, HKC, Siemens, Castle, Texecom.
  7. The eurosec is good value for money in comparison to the other two it should be a fair bit cheaper. Honeywell will be the better quality though
  8. I think the adds will be sent to the dialer not who the dialer calls
  9. I was thinking about using it for videofieds too. the free GSM dialer is brilliant. The thing is how reliable is it, when there is no or little money being made there is far less enthusiasm to give good service. I am never motivated to work for free unless its for charity
  10. So how does this adds thing work if we were say using our own web based jobsheets would we still get adds or would the adds only happen if we were say browsing for porn or a new pair of shoes or whatever engineers do in their spare time
  11. 200 Mins 300 Texts 500MB Data £0 per month! perfect for gsm dialer's 1000MB Data £0 per month! perfect for tabs
  12. Free data for a one off £20 is very good I didnt see anything that good on any of the other operators
  13. Thanks for that I looked at the coverage and it looks good worth investing £20 to try it out
  14. When an engineer is struggling I RDC in and do it for them most of the time it is simple but I have come across one or two routers that have been bstardised by the isp. Plus Net have a Thompson modem that will only let you port forward predefined setups there is no custom port setting at all I had to change the firmware and everything, but I couldn't do that remotely so to get us out of a hole I changed the port settings on the DVR until I could get to site.
  15. These Micro machines are great value you can fit a DVD player in the top so ripping the DVD is so much easier I have a plug in DVD player as well (I upgraded the RAM to 8gb so it can deal with two DVDs at once) you can buy whs on ebay for £50 or you can use xp, win7 or 8, ubuntu, mint, or one of the other linux derivatives as your os. Cheap with £50 cash back http://www.serversdirect.co.uk/Hewlett_Packard_HP_Micro_G7_N54L_NHP_250GB_EU_Svr_704941-421/version.asp
  16. I thought of that I have about 20 old 500gb hdd that I back up too
  17. I have one running SME the other is a WHS running my Plex media server about 8TB nearly 30% full of movies in MTV format. I think mine were £50 cash back when I purchased them so even cheaper than £120.00, James put me on to them. I have even thought about using them as DVRs but I dont think the processor is powerful enough for that
  18. I have two of those HP servers in my office Matt great value for money for what they are
