the money is in 13 alarm systems not going to go into prices but there is very good margain for me as i only tend to do cctv thats why i would rather get 2 or 3 subbies to fit them for me rather then not take the job

why would i give it to another company to install i run a cctv installation company for last 7 years reason not got much into alarms in the past as every spark with 20 miles of me would undercut me so just stuck with cctv unless they wanted wireless aswell as a cctv pakage now this developer wants the usual cctv but also wants alarms in everyhouse certainly not lining someone elses pocket by giving the work away

i have thought about the cpx because of the diallier what i meant with regads to readily available to anyone every electrical outlet around here only stock the optima panel where 9651 and cpx and euro mini are only available tbrough trade outlets

not a fan of the optima/accenta range as anyman and his dog can purchase it anywhere looking for panels that are mainly only trade thanks

yes fitted about 15 cctv systems for this company in the past so it was never really going to go to anyone else to be honest as we help each other out quite a lot with our other businesses and have become good friends over the last few years as i mainly only fit wireless kits i am juat after some advice on wired panels thanks as i know most of them are around the same price range from supplier thanks

hi everyone i have just had an order for a cctv system and 13 new alarm syagems on new builds on a housing estate nr me the only condition the company have is they are fully wired not wireless which i normally fit myself i am thinking of a couple of panels each house will have 4 pir and 2 door contacts pyronix euro mini scantronic 9651 as i usually only tend to fit wireless kits (enforcer) thats why i am thinking of the euro mini and i have a 9651 in my house and i am really happy with it any other suggestions will be greatfully accepted plus not sure if i am allowed to do this but if there are any sub contractors in south wales who want to fit these alarms would you be able to get in touch thanks

What makes you think i have a job last time i lookedi do my advertising i do my quotes i order parts i wait for them to get delivered and i install them then i invoice the customers for payment i have 3monthly meetings with my accountant to make sure my tax and NI is paid up to date although i do it all i would still class it as running a business although it being a small one compared to other companies or what would you call it then

Jbw i rest my case with my first post !!!! Some people in this industry think that because they have been in the industry donkeys years they have been there and done everything but they have not been in your situation they have not walked in your shoes and positive thinking will only take you so far as long as you are prepared to work hard you will make a success of you want to do what works in one part of the country might not work as well in another part because you dont have 350 police monitored sites 500 cctv systems installed and are just a one man band you can still make a good living for your family and be very successfull in your own right i know someone who runs another company who has to find 40k a month in new business just to pay staff every month i would not want that pressure on my head if i am totally honest. I am more than happy fitting my 2-3 systems a week myself and earning a comfortable living for my family than coming home everynight worrying about paying other people hope it all goes well for you!!!!!

No not me i asked if anyone knew of any training courses in my local area.

best form of advertising in my opinion is word of mouth cost nothing and is probably the best advertising you will get when i first started i put a 5 camera system in my best friends garage free of charge for him with all the customers he had onto the forcourt and in the shop and garage area i have had 4 big cctv installs from people asking him about it i am not saying go and offer someone free cctv just a pointing out that word of mouth and people seeing systems working is a big plus thats my opinion anyway but i am sure there will be some of the miserable lot on her shortly to say otherwise plus i hope everything works out in your new venture

Thanks for the reply but as a single parent with 2 small children staying away is not an option thats the reason i am trying to find one in south wales area

Hi everyone, I am new to this site but i have been in the security industry for about 10 years mainly cctv installation and sales i am looking for a training course in wales(south if possible) in installation of intruder alarm systems i am competent in cctv and so far and i have done about 15 wireless systems (visonic and enforcer kits) but would really like to know more about wired systems does anyone know if there are any courses locally i have looked everywhere on line and can only find london and manchester courses and the obvious tavcom ones thanks in advance
