For anyone else's benefit , think we have the final answer to why the Configuration Software will not connect.

Below from the Risco FAQ section.

Seems if the panel is connected to the Risco cloud via the IP channel ( and our panel is, with valid subscription ), the the Configuration Software cannot connect to the panel.

Sort of reluctant to test / confirm this by disconnecting the panel from the Risco Cloud in case Risco then say " you can't reconnect , you are an end user etc etc"

    CS TCP-IP Connection Error.JPG

Dude just use the alarm until you can't , why you need confin software to connect when you can manually do it all?

I would say bin it you sound like a competent diyer ....

There is also a DS-1006KI controller that I've spotted (new), and I'm wondering if that would work a DS-7308HUHI-K4 DVR system, as that system does have seperate terminal inputs marked for a keyboard controller. Ideally I'd like the main monitor to have joystick/keyboard control over the cameras and DVR, even if then a KVM extender is installed for the lesser-used monitors 2 and 3

You mean it has rs485 or 232 or something like that? Or specifically says keyboard input in back of machine

The protocols can be selected on keyboards and the hikvision ones all usually work

I have a i-on40 panel with a key-kpz01 keypad and a mix of wired and wireless PIRS which I installed myself.

I'm hoping someone can help as I have contacted Eaton and they just knocked me back saying the product was discontinued and replaced with the i-ion40H. Basically a "go-away we can't be bothered" email.

I'm trying to find out what the latest firmware and language set versions are for the panel and where I can download them as the Scantronic support site only has the new 40H shown. I am currently running V4.05.06 with the V2.50 language set which may, or may not be, the latest?

The reason I'm looking is twofold. One, I have issues with the panel WEB management which stops working periodically and I have to power off the panel and disconnect the battery to fix it. Secondly, I'm looking at expanding the system with an extra kpz01 and don't want to encounter any compatibility issues should the new keypad have newer firmware.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Keypads you should realistically have an issue with

Panel web management should drop out when left idle , but they are flaky anyway

They discontinued often then on the 40 range ......

They come in pairs require local power and send both over UTP. Distance varies based on Category of the cable Cat5e/Cat6 etc.

    Search "HDMI/USB over Cat5"

If you don't go the full system route you will end up buying convertors or other tat to get all the functionality you want to retain to work if it's compatible at all.

It's highly possible the PTZ aspect or some of this functionality you have is not really required.

Hard to say without seeing the site, you make the site sound like an average detached domestic property with neighbours, while what you explain of the system feels like it was designed back in the 90's, for a scrapyard with night guards...

Convertors only for the cvi stuff right? Most other or some recorders can do ip tvi an ahd ?

Thanks guys. Still discussing with my employer

Is there also any specialist equipment require in service gates/barriers? One of the sites mentioned force measuring equipment?

Also how long does it realistically take to service these properly?

So I can pass the information back

Sounds like your going to need lots of liability insurance ?

Sounds like someone else over specced and it ended up in your van...

I always over spec , buy in and use everything on next install , the next install I have also over spec, not by allot but a bit , then occasionally have to buy more in until I over spec again

Hi I’ve taken on a job for a day rate plus mileage , how dose the mileage work is it just enough to cover the fuel or is it the standard 45p per mile after a certain amount off miles ?

    Local jobs include it

Otherwise agree something unless you got very good day rate regardless then can include fuel provided not having to travel every day , digs might work cheaper

    Hi,

I've just hard wired a Pyronix DeltaBell (with backlight) to a Pyronix enforcer panel, but it's not working. It was previously working fine with the same panel at another location. This time, I have not wired the tamper circuit (I removed the switch), as it's up high and the fitting surface is not particularly great. I did a reset on the panel, so the Z33 for the tamper is not active. Endstation ouput/bell output is set to 014 / Siren Any.

I've only fitted 3 wires as follows:

STB on siren to STB on the panel

Bell on the siren to Bell on the panel

12V+ on the siren to +12v on the panel

When the alarm is triggered, the internal siren works fine, the outside siren does not. I don't think the comfort lights are active either?

On the siren, the battery is enabled (J8 jumper is connecting pins 1+2) on INT and the sounder cable is fitted correctly.

Am I being a total n*b, what have I done wrong here?

    Thanks

    Rob.

What about the negative ? You still need it

With regards to an Orisec system, how can one power cycle the keypad / main unit without resetting everything to default? I was working on a keypad attempting to connect to wi-fi and it randomly went 'weird'. All sensors are showing tamper, however when I log in a the user and select 'Reset' the kepad just beeps and nothing happens. Also, when scanning for wi-fi networks it gets stuck. Looking into that further shows the wi-fi module is 'Not fitted' however I know there is one. Any suggestions?

Why not just remove mains and battery and let it restart?

Hi thanks sorry for getting back late the bell is working now but I can't get the strobe to work when I do a test between the negative and strobe it works but it doesn't work when alarm is ringing I got it in ou2 and program it in outputs but still nojoy

What did you programme it as , you have a meter to see what output is doing?

I think it definitely used to be, but nowadays they are just businesses and the bar is pretty low, they do all sorts of meaningless courses (puppet design ffs) just to get the numbers (and cash) up. A massive percentage attend uni now compared to my era.

As I say, when someone used to say they had a degree it was always kudos, now it's more 'meh'

And the classic is most classes either online or they watch recorded lessons or go once or twice a week , that way numbers and capacity is up , they make more money and dish out the degrees

Probably good what they done with the GCSE grading system , only pandemic had delayed it a little , atleast it will correct all these a stars that every student seems to get

Imo it's the cream that go to uni. If everyone goes it's just another a level.

However I was intrigued on the t level. Didn't know if it and seems a good idea

I thought it had become that, definitely not the cream going to uni these days , anyone can get a degree and anyone can get a master's

Hi thanks for getting back yes it's on the panel

James is pointing out that your connecting to a relay which unless wired correctly will do nothing

Assuming the relay is triggered on alarm the no can stay in the bell trigger , but the c (common needs to connect to negative or minus or -ve ) that way when the alarm triggers it will connect the bell trigger to the negative it requires to ring it

Strobe I am not sure , the other outputs are programmable perhaps and you need to look at menus what they can do

Batteries are full, I am pressing tamper button like  I am suppose to do, I have RF network found etc. but nothing.

When is mess with control panel cover then I get message to my phone : tamper alarm. Atleast that works....

I even reseted the system back to defaults...

    Could use some help.

I do think there's something I'm missing, but not sure what. Doing a command-line Ping brings back 'packets sent: 4, received: 4, lost: 0; average time 0ms', yet still images don't show.

What's more is I have been trying a 2-cam IP encoder board on my network and that's also having unexpected results... the primary (Huawei) router shows the board as being connected but fails to assign an IP address to it - I have put in a DHCP reservation of 192.168.1.110 and yet despite this it is never assigned an IP address; doing a ping gets a 50% loss, the returned packets is a reply of 'destination unreachable' and using IP cam viewing software brings back TCP Error 10060 when I try and connect (both as 192.168.1.110:80 and 192.168.1.110:443) : this error being due to packet loss but not access being denied suggests something on my network is putting up a firewall where there shouldn't be one... and that's what I need help with. There's a lot of things I can do, but trying to set up cameras and DVR's to broadcast across the local network is clearly getting the better of me.
(it's worth noting that I connected the encoder board directly to my PC both with and without a crossover adapter and still couldn't get a connection)

So I assume a plain switch at the DVR end allows everything to work , £10 or so

Then just stick the other router on another output for wifi

    Hello,
This has been a bit of an issue which has been bugging me for a while but I got around it temporarily, however this workaround will not be possible for much longer.... the problem is that I have a DVR set up in an outbuilding to record images from a camera or two at the far end of the property where I am undertaking building works, that DVR is connected to my local network through a wired ethernet connection - when I have the ethernet cable connected straight through from the remote DVR to the primary router then logging in to the webpage for the remote DVR works fine and a live image is displayed... **BUT** if I connect the remote DVR through my secondary router, which is acting as a WiFi repeater and a LAN Switch, then the live image no longer shows; what makes this odd is that the HTML for the DVR webpage loads, but the actual image area shows a 'crashed image' icon - opening the image up seperately brings back
    "Authentication Error:Access Denied, authentication error"
The primary router is recognising the device as being connected, and assigns an IP address - for the sake of argument we'll say 192.168.1.6. The primary router is currently an Huawei HG635 locked to TalkTalk with as-supplied firmware, which offers barely any functionality when it comes to specific port forwarding for example... the secondary repeater/switch router is a D-Link DSL-3780 (192.168.1.50).

I have tried other DVR's over this connection but get the same result:- no video through the repeater/switch router. Surely this isn't an all-out firewall block, because the HTML is loading and if it was a full block then I'd be getting a server timeout error. I suspect the problem lies somewhere in the D-Link router, but I am really not sure where because I have turned off all the usual security features that would be required if it were being used as a primary router.... that said however, I have had a longstanding problem with the main CCTV DVR (we'll give this an IP of 192.168.1.5) which is linked through the network via the Huawei router - the webpages show fine and configuration can be done, but no video over the web interface (yet video will be shown if a client software program is used) AND the other problem is that there is no telemetry over the network connection (cameras 1 and 6 have PTZ, but the PTZ controls on the web interface or on the client software do not provoke a response from the corresponding camera)........... I want to get this sorted over the next week because our internet is about to be upgraded to a new system using Amazon Eero Pro6 router(s), and so the old routers will be required as Ethernet switches due to the Eero only having 2 LAN ports; plus I want to know what settings everything needs to be on so I'm not spending hours/days trying to figure it all out again on a new router.

Does anybody here have an extensive enough knoweledge of routers and Ethernet/LAN connections and switches to be able to figure out what is going wrong?
(remote DVR: no live streaming video over web HTML interface... main DVR: no PTZ telemetry, no streaming video over web HTML interface but does stream on specific software)

    Thanks.

    What dvr?
