So home mode , you don't want to arm the front door only other sensors get armed?

    Hi,

When using the b setting at night the buzz tone is extremely loud on my scantronic. Is it possible to make it completely silent when setting? If so could someone give me a walkthrough please.

    Thanks in advance!

There is a way to make it sound like a light weird buzz or silent I think

I just thought I would comment but can't remember how

It is in the manual under b option settings

    Hang on Al

Its a requirement that the fire alarm drops the lock. The only way to achieve that is the lock supply being dropped locally per door

I just wondered how complicated this would get if two different maintainers....

    ok - thanks sixwheeledbeast.

I will be logging in via keypad in Engineer mode.....I have wintex too but to do things like change pir batteries I like to use keypad and log in as Engineer.

So no need to do anything except invoke Hold-Off mode, open sounder and replace battery...great - thanks.

Just another question if I may. No plans to change sounders but I read new sounders do not need battery change.....so do they have them?

I thought sounders used their own battery for the siren.....I have had a power cut once many years ago when it was off so long the control battery died and then the sounders went off.....I think for 20 mins or so...can't recall exactly. I replaced the controller battery after that.

    Thanks again.

    I still don't get it

How is it reporting battery failure on a wired sounder ?

It's usually down to who controls what tho.

Who will commission the fire etc.

I would always expect one for one unless told and confirmed in writing otherwise.

You want to minimise the length of the runs from the fire system and also minimise failures if there is an issue with the loop.

So better for the fire maintainer to provide the outputs and door man does the rest right ?

Thank you. What do you mean locks not in the controller?

As a newbie or chancer as some might say

I assuming you need to fit something in-between the lock and the controller , this way controller has no choice that doors are released ???

Recently changed my keypad for an updated version to fit 9651 Scantronic. After installing it which was fitted whilst in installer mode, it has come up with low battery. I since replaced the battery for new bearing in mind the original was a year old. Did the half reset on the panel now can use the code but still showing low battery and cant use the factory reset number as it says wrong code. Do i need to ask an engineer to come out and do a reset.

    Scrap I reckon

Hi, first time posting here and a complete novice in the alarm department. We have a Honeywell system for the house which was installed in 2016. Recently we had issuing setting it which lead me to discover the main panel battery needed replacing (error on my part for the lack of servicing). I've sourced the right battery and replaced whereby the outdoor bell went off and after putting the new battery in and the power back on the alarm went off however, the keypad downstairs is blank but had the green power light on. Any suggestions in what this could mean?

Is it flashing starts ? Perhaps you connected battery wrong way round at first ?

I would disconnect battery and the mains , then reconnect mains and battery see what happens

Thanks for the advice. I guess my frustration is that I (probably) have a working system, but I just can't access it, and that I need a contract or call-out fee to reset it now and in the future (I'm assuming here that it does work of course). I was wondering if there's a way to avoid the on-going cost for a working system.
    Cheers.

    Dude

Seems you basically wouldn't buy an alarm altogether as you don't pay?

Local engineer,  even if you paid him £200, will service it give you codes and then won't maintain it in future unless you pay whatever he charges for call outs and servicing or do some your self

And that will be cheaper than you installing new

I’m sure your response to the original request of installing a new keypad would have been different to what I received…

    Maybe

But we only hearing one side right ?

Nothing new with what your saying, plenty of customers get unecessarily fed up with there installers for some reason or other ....

Quick update, I have put the wireless Kaypad back on its wall mount and it works. Alarm can be armed and disarmed. Only issue now is getting the main keypad working.

How much does the installation company want for the work?

Will be interesting if your comip and smart com fails , not easy to fix

New to all this. But thought forums would be the best place for advice.

Just started a ltd for the second time. The first time I had an accountant ’taking care’ of my accounts, tax etc but I just got bills for things I didn’t understand and I wasn’t sure exactly what he doing. I was wondering if anyone knew of any ‘ltd company accounts courses’ or something along those lines. Even though I’ll use an accountant for now. I would like to take my accounts in to my own hands. Any advice, direction, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ?

What you do then? Builder ?

Chrome was the last browser to support ActiveX plugins, Firefox disabled them a good while ago.

DM went bust mostly because they were slow to assess market changes, their gear cost at least twice the price of newer stuff with less features.

Now we are left with any innovative companies being absorbed into Chinese giants and a heavy focus on as cheap as possible for large parts of the market.

I assume edge , selecting ie mode doesn't do it ?

Hi - hopefully someone will be able to help me out. I have an Ademco Accord 8 alarm, just this last 24 hours it doesn't seem to want to arm properly. When entering the code and pressing Full Set as normal, there is a beeping noise and all of the zone lights are on solid red. It just stays making the noise until I put the code in again. Any ideas how to get it back to normal?

    Thanks

Overall it's scrap though.... Get new

Hi both, thanks for the help.

Panel was powered off while installing the module.

Firmware on the sticker and from the keypad is reported as:

    JS703650
    E20.214

    Checked and repeated the following;

    Power cycled.

Ribbon seated correctly with correct orientation (as you said it's keyed).

2k2 resistors in series for tamper and parallel across the normally closed contacts.

    Pictures of panel an wiring?

I've taken on support of a Visonic System that has a requirement for a few hardwired zones adding. This is the first Visonic I'm working on so I have little experience.

I've added a ioXpander-8 module to the system without any physical issue (The LED on the board flashes away), although it doesn't appear to show up in the "05: Outputs" menu. I can add a wired zone as 050-0001, but not 050-0002 which suggests that the expander isn't being seen (The panel only supports one zone without expansion).

There's nothing in the documentation about adding an expander other than possibly enabling it under the "05: Outputs" menu which I also don't see as an option. There's an enroll button on the board I've tried pushing and push+holding which doesn't seem to have made a difference.

Any guidance on this one? Should it "just work" or is there some undocumented feature I've missed? Thanks!

Maybe your expander firmware version is to new for the panel firmware?

    Just guessing

    Swb you the visionic man
