    Hi. Thanks for your interest.

Yes, I've connected 0V and TR on the 9448+ while the siren isn't connected. (I'm just trying get it set up on my bench at the moment prior to actually installing it.)

The tamper switches on the control box and the remote keypad are both held shut with rubber bands.

So disconnect everything and close the tamper loop aswell that way you know everything is how it should be

Not only that if he tells the OP the engineers code, the the OP has the engineers code for all of his customers systems. this would leave customers vulnerable, its a bit like ford telling customers a back door into the programing of their cars can you imagine the consequences

Nah man that's just odd companies that do that,

Different code and lock all panels is best 😉

My installer is refusing to give me the engineer code to my Orisec alarm system.

Does that mean I am locked into them if I want upgrades? Can another firm reset it?

As jw , but pay him to default codes and lose all support from him or them ....

Can anyone help me exit installer mode on my 9651 unit. I recently replaced the unit as it had a main board fault and I replicated the wiring to the new (used) unit from the original unit. I have powered up and then gone into installer mode and reconfigured the settings to my setup. Then in trying to leave installer mode it went through to 99: checking system and is now in a closed loop displaying - tamper bell, tamper Z01, tamper Z02, tamper Z03....................tamper Z08 and then it repeats the cycle.

I can't get out of this closed loop and don't want to have to do a system reset and start again. Does anyone have any thoughts on why the unit is doing this and how I can resolve the issue?

    You missed some settings

If your pirs are not using a common tamper loop you must set the zone eol section on the panel accordingly option 21?

And if there was no bell tamper problem previously then you have wired the bell tamper incorrectly , or there never was a bell tamper and you haven't closed the loop , you picture of bell connections before swap and after?

My workshop doors are not a precision fit to the frames, there's a bit of movement in the wind. All the door contacts I've seen are for well fitted domestic doors, are there any door contacts out there that have a less precision activation please?

As always, thanks for any useful information and ideas 🙂

How much movement and why can't you secure them better ?

    Back to choice again...

Thought I'd look at Hikvision, however very few retailers, though lots of wholesalers.

    Also looked at...

    • Swann via Screwfix/Toolstation.
    • City Electrical has 3 different makes ESP, Yale and Facina.
    • Discountcctvsupplier has DAHUA, HIKVISION and HILOOK BY HIKVISION.
    • Found two sites who seem to be owned by one another, these being Domar.aka Zxtech. I did email both companies with different questions over a week ago and got no reply, so I think if they're that bad with a sales enquiry, they'll be just as bad if something goes wrong!
    • Lorex Security Products

    Which should I definitely avoid?

Thanks once more for any support 🙂

    All of them?

What is thi circled  terminal block for please? ...There's no mention of it in the instruction that I've found, hence asking.

Thanks again for any useful comments 🙂

Zxtech Onyx 32 Channel 16-PoE Ports 12MP 4K CCTV High Definition Network Recorder2.jpg

Inputs and relay output? So in menu when something on camera is programmed it will or can cause those outputs to activate

Crudely speaking , camera 1 video loss, has alarm beeps recorder but switch an out put or relay to do something, maybe trigger another device or whatever you want it to do

Experts will correct me when they wake up , get out of bed and get real jobs .....

    Be nice please. 🙂

There seems to be numerous Wireless CCTV kits on the UK market, and loads more elsewhere. Who do you advise to run with and who should I really avoid please?

I'm probably looking at 4 cameras (with room for expansion on the recorder).

I've not yet seen any kits with a camera door bell, whats the best route for this please?

As usual, thanks in advance for any useful information 🙂 🙂

So you may as well do ring then right?

Although there are a few others who do the door ell and cameras , hik, ezviz(same as him)  or whatever it's called

Thanks to all 3 of you. I should have said “wired” system but I guess you all know enough to have worked that out.

I will start dismantling. Whatever seems undamaged, I will offer on ebay as a complete system initially. If no joy, I will try the components separately. I guess the keypads offer the best prospect as I hear that they often fail because of the most used digits.

Keypads probably worth the most if you can wait it out....

    Be nice.

Is there any recorders out there that has the capability of using wired an wireless cameras please?

Why, around the building where the recorder will be sited, is easy enough to use wireless cameras, however the other building is too car away for any sort of WiFi signal, so thinking a dual input recorder would be the answer.

I don't wish to have a second recorder in the remote building.

Thanks in advance for anything useful 🙂

    How far ?

How on earth do you fix to bricking Clading ?

I have bodged an ewd on with red plugs + 2 x 1.5" by 8's

The brick appear to be a tile in disgust & won't drill with new ads but on rotary only.

Drilling with hammer makes the mortar fall out breaks the tile/ brick

Picture of the corner of the building which looks like hgv damage IMG_20240125_112123765.thumb.jpg.ba5b3f912ebc65f3ff4dab52ac70d809.jpg

    Multibit no hammer

But there's many types of clad doesn't always work , just make sure bells are nice and wide like your mcdonalds physique and it should coverb the damage

    Cool? 😎

    Hi all,
I have some experience with Texecom but none with Honeywell and have just inherited a Galaxy system in a property that I have taken over. The alarm seems to be stuck in engineer mode. The error shown when trying to exit engineer mode is RIO 102 AC FAIL. There does seem to be an expansion panel at the other side of the building which I believe may be RIO 102? I was told by the previous tenant that I can still use the system in engineer mode and it does seem to arm ok but when I try to trigger the alarm it just beeps with the entry noise indefinitely and the siren will not sound. The display will then show that the alarm was triggered.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Where does it show alarm triggered?

Continuous bleep zones are open , maybe due to the rio fault

Site has been live for two years and it was set hence activating when the Police went it - my thoughts a mixture of the beams set as being default medium sensitivity and the intruder being fully covered.

So you have beams not pirs?

  14. 4 minutes ago, Terry Hunter said:

there are 3 pir's from the door to the till no door opening so no zone acted as a guard access so if activated it would have created an instant alarm. nothing on the log from the previous night setting until the Police walked in

So either wasn't set , or something wrong with installation

  15. 1 hour ago, Terry Hunter said:

Yes wireless, front door not opened but smashed through - full coverage of the guy inside, heavy coat gloves hood and mask, went straight to the till £350 cash. the areas beyond the entry route had PIR's to create the confirmed - not looking at the same area. Front door not opened so entry route, confirmation timers etc. not an issue. Point taken about DT but thought for the risk we had enough kit.

So as others might put it, inadequate entry route protection to the till , no entry timer started

Police come walk around like normal, activate detection hence signals sent

You were concerned from start of this post that signals weren't sent , probably, so no detection from outset

That's what I think , he knew where the cash was and it's route

Has anyone else asked for your logs yet and reports, show them here aswell .....

Thinking of a logical answer as I think we need one - there are 3 PIR's inside and a contact on the glass front door, the intruder went through the front door not opening the contact. Going by the image of the intruder he was fully clothed mask, head gear and thick coat, gloves etc. - the PIR's are set to medium sensitivity so I think possibly it wouldn't pick him up.

The site is on a high street/main road so I didn't want to put vibration sensors on the front door/windows but feel this is now a must as well as increasing the PIR sansitivity.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

Is it possible to answer previous questions?

I think you should get a day job if you think setting pirs to high sensitivity, all three?

    What pirs?

What kind of door , broke a panel in a door at bottom uPVC?
