Hi Guys... Just expanded into larger premises and setting up new office & computers. I’m looking to add a smart card style logon system to all computers. Don’t want mag stripe as it’s easily copied. Ideally want the smart card inserted into a reader to logon to pc and if card is removed then the user is logged off. To comply with GDPR I’ve already got full drive encryption sorted, I’m just looking at an advanced logon solution,, Anyone got any thoughts on this or can recommend a product.. thanks

Came in this morning to find the server had died, I have a backup at home but because the A27 is closed travelling to and from is a bit more than a ball ache, luckily my salesman was in Brighton so picks it up for me. Gets it to the office wires it all in and with the help of JW gets it up and running, it worked a dream everything saved from the night before nothing missing. Then on to getting the internet working. I'm with Virgin for business I have a Cisco modem plugged directly into the server and the SME server does the DHCP. Anyway the modem will only talk to the mac address that it was set up with, apparently according to Virgin the only way to change this …

I just stumbled upon this http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/665518/Raspberry-Pi-as-low-cost-HD-surveillance-camera It's instructions on how to build a IP WiFi enabled HD camera from a Raspberry-Pi Features include motion detection recording and notifications, web browser access and remote backup. For those not in our industry and into tech and making projects, it seems a clever idea for the cost of the parts. Do you think homebrew projects like this will become more popular for home security in the future?

I am looking to install a relay card into a computer and then hopefully create a small password protected website which allows control of the relays. I have also seen some ethernet modules which have use software to control the outputs. I would really like to create my own simple website though. I am also looking to install a DVR inplace of a timelag VCR, and wonder if there is a DVR with relay outputs controllable via the web-software for the DVR? Any info or links would creatly recieved.

We need to replace our photocopier. Its currently an A4 ollivetta copia 9910, we also have a networks clp-600 colour laser, 2 x samsung ml-3560 and 1 x minolta 4410. I need a low cost per mono page (colour less important) MFD ideally A3, but probably A4 (due to budget) >20 ppm, networked for printing and scanning, with a built in fax. (i want to replace as much as possible in one go seen as we rarely manually fax now and the konica unit we have is huge). SO any suggestions people. ta James

Does anyone know to a source of Inline DSL filters. Not the ones with leads on, but ones which you could either splice into the line with or insert into the control panel.
