We're you stocking up on swan?

  2. It is to connect a honeywell touch screen to a honeywell alarm panel. There is a 485 bus connector on the panel. I think 485 is called EIA-485 now and seems to be 4 core screened pair cable.

What do you for for a living?

Just use cat5 or decent alarm cable as above beldon if you must pay more, screening is available on many types of cables...

  3. Junk mail....

    Is Windows 8 dead?

A technical preview of the latest operating system from Microsoft was unveiled yesterday, introducing the world to Windows 10.

Combining the best elements of the popular Window 7OS with some of the touchscreen-friendly features and functionality of Windows 8, the software will run on a wide range of devices from PC’s, tablets, phones and Xbox consoles.

Users will be delighted to hear that Windows 10 sees the return of the Start button...

  4. Beware! I'd only recommend with an old glue gun used only for that purpose!

Otherwise I just look out for SWA kits on ebay that are near sell-by date. Got a load of 3M ones lately, £1 a pop!

They were for some obscure fibre joint, just opened up all the boxes and binned the odd y-shaped plastics.

Just look for any comms van parked up with a fibre joint they always carry resin packs you only need one....

  5. If you're back feeding 12v from smart RIO's to the panel, then that is another issue you need to resolve!

Also, double check line fail is disabled, menu 56/1/10. Check line volts, incoming call etc are all disabled, then go into perameters 51, and do a restart.

Ah beat me to it! As he said resolve your power issue

I would check again your settings you may have missed something , did the place. ever use a pstn connection?

How did you drop each line?

  6. Didn't think you need to power Rios down if it's the com on the panel , just power cycle the panel,

If it doesn't work save the configuration and remove one line at a time to see how many modules get removed this would prove your theory that there is no other device somewhere extra on the line

    But as above pstn otherwise
