dpes anyome know why the new ethernet card sends packets of data no problem, and says connected to the router, 10/100mbps but does not recieve, is there something in the setup im missing.

Check the security settings of the router?

Reboot the router.

Change the network cable and router port.

Try a different PC with the same card.

Have a cup of hot chocolate, go to bed.

check the settings are correct and that it has an IP and is set to auto full duplex might be a duff cable..

might also have the wrong address, or be set to dhcp with no dhcp server or address's available
