  1. If you don't know when it was last serviced the least you can do is have it checked over it may not be functional anyway.
  2. Maybe you messed up and set a service timer instead?
  3. Sounds like a service timer. Did you find out when it was last serviced?
  4. Have you proved that using a dnslookup tool on the device?
  5. P2P should work, no tricks needed. EE have been known for blocking ports but this would normally be outbound to stop you hosting services like port 80. If I understand correctly your EE side is the client? Also if I follow correctly you seem to have no issues from the client using the WAN IP? This ruling out blocked ports. Set the secondary DNS to itself? Just set NVR DNS1/2 to a trusted external DNS provider. I recall a thread a while back of something similar with new Hik units? I remember having a inkling it could be a Double NAT issue due to ISP (CGN) especially knowing the companies mentioned (EE, Sky VM etc) You would need to traceroute your DNS to diagnose that. I think this is what the guy from EE is trying to explain in simple terms.
  6. User and Manager is available on our downloads section. https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/files/category/25-honeywell/ We do not provide defaulting information or engineer manuals here as per our guidelines.
  7. Sounds like a NAT loopback issue. So you have proved the port forwarding and the DDNS/DNS from off site. So it's just that device then? Have you tried a DNS check on the problem device? DDNS was not up to date when this test was done? Either switch the DNS service to something else or leave it default. The sites DNS must be working so changing these is unlikely to help.
  8. Pretty sure all the xx-W panels have 4 onboard, but you can use the keypad zones too for example.
  9. Inhibit zones and entry zones set correct?
  10. http://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/40034-forum-trade-application/
  11. Factory default and power up with nothing connected to prove the panel.
  12. I can confirm this manual is available for trade members only. We also encourage any manuals or manuals requests be posted in the Downloads section of the site where there is version control, search and filter features.
  13. Maybe expand on how you are trying to program them and what happens when you do?
  14. Probably TAP server? If so not worth setting up IMO.
  15. I would say that's fair use, he is a happy chap after all.
  16. Any Ricochet "panel" is technically hybrid, it just depends how many wired zones you need and where.
  17. With a professional installation the manufacturer is irrelevant as companies generally use the kit they're trained on and you are guided by their advise. Reliability is more down to the system being serviced regularly, wouldn't matter if that's wired, wireless or hybrid.
  18. Just leave it in the battery tray for the next engineer to deal with...?
  19. Have trust in an app and your panel being connected to the internet but not in wireless? Have you definitely decided you are going to DIY your system? If the system is operational and in good order, a company could likely take it over stick some radio PA's on and install proper monitoring.
  20. The ARC recorded this as an Open due to being sent an Open signal. The operator/ARC stood down the confirmed due to receiving an open with restores to the other signals. I don't know the panel well but if it's volatile memory with a coin battery like someone mentioned above then your not going to get any information from it.
  21. Under cutting to get business only leaves you open to someone doing the same down the road. Customers that want a good job by a skilled tradesmen are out there but you won't find many by under cutting and taking over other peoples tat.
  22. Using someone you have no trust in to install your alarm system seems a bit odd. Trusting the control of your alarm system to an app is an equal or greater vulnerability if you think about it. You seem to point a lot of blame towards the installer but this is how this manufacturer have there cloud system setup. There is no invasion of privacy, I assume you required the app and these are the terms of it. I think the above few posts cover how you can go forward. If that be with app or without, installer or not.
  23. It's all in the firmware and knowing what your doing ... Pre-2K panels have different programming. Sorry we do not provide programming manuals or defaulting information here as per our guidelines. https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/guidelines/ I also don't have a User manual for a Pre-2K. So you may just have to explain what your problem is.
  24. Nothing is impossible if you have the determination to do it. Every business has to start from somewhere. Expecting to start from scratch is a huge ask, I assume you have in the pipeline enough regular work to keep you busy for the future? I also expect you have enough experience being employed in the industry to understand it's workings from both an installer and administration side?
