  1. "Steve" I hope the DIY sex change went well... The active posters on plumbing or alarm forum are probably earning a living from that trade I have direct a/c with risco, but unless there is a reason like only a risco product fit in the wallspace I'd be using a premier or a full euro, If you want to do your panel change, great stuff 800 - 600 means placing resistors in all detection devices or creating a global tamper I'd allow a 1/2 day, for alarm eng to do the job,
  2. in this modern world you can buy just about anything on online, how many hrs have you put into this so far ?

  5. * whilst I remember, Zylex or whatever I f*cked about for hrs trying to get one going that had been in place & working for a couple of months, they'd changed to fibre I'd was still forwarding on adsl rather than Ethernet
  6. Unplug CCTV or whatever forwarding works change ip & port on ethernet card to match & you should be able to prove alarm works? I'd buy a used draytek from eBay rather than fanny with a homehub or Thompson router
  7. I assume you've checked the port is open in a browser?
  8. the easy solution is find a tame alarm co. local to you... if you don't want to spend money, disconnect the alarm
  9. ADT offered to do it w/o contract but you didn't want to pay.... Today we offered to attend a system done 13yrs ago by us & not maintained for way, for way less than your ADT figure but was still way way too dear... in fact there's been a no. callers this week amazed we don't drive around the county looking at stuff for free or advise over the telephone how to repair there system

  17. it snowed heavily on Wednesday, there was about 3" of snow laid on the unclassified rd between a village & a hamlet the road is fast & sweeping, a touch bumpy but I'm pottering along at steady pace, as I reach the right hand bend I realise I can't quite tell the difference the road & the verges, I've misjudge the bend its tighter than I thought I'm going too fast & are heading into the trees, I just miss ending up in the ditch more though luck than talent.... I stop further up the road to check for damage, there's still an 1" of snow all over the front end..... imprinted in the snow theres loads of small leaf prints, I use a hat to clear the lights, grill bumper ect.... not a mark on it
  18. I've mentioned him before.... Bought a radar gun & used to measure speeders in his yellow motorway jacket At the time he had a v10 M5 oi Nigel....
  19. used to be interested in motorsport, nearest I got this yr is client referring to the rd outside there house as the "mulsanne straight" as he's unhappy with people speeding past naturally the 500+ horsepower car in the garage has never been by anyone elses house at speed....
