Hi Guys, I am currently attempting to install a 9750 panel in a domestic environment. The external element being a Elmdene "sounder 7422". Does anyone know of any compatibility issues with this combination. I reckon the wiring to be right but I cannot clear the "Bell tamper" message nor silence the SAB from the control panel. Also, the red led does not illuminate indicating power supplied as the instructions suggest it should. Any ideas? Any guidance or tips greatly appreciated. I also hope to include a Vocaliser within the 9750 once the basic setup is established. The Vocaliser looks like it can be configured to work with the 9750. Is this a corrrect or miss-gu…

When testing or acuating the Lynteck Universal bell box the sounders are very weak. The alarm system is a Accenta 6 about 5 years old. I have changed the 12 v 2 ah accenta internal battery with no change. The internal sounder operates normally. I the problem corroded or bad bell box connections? An low Bell Box battery? As accessing the Bell Box is difficult, can any member suggest solving a similar problem.

I have recently moved into a house with a veritas r8 alarm install. and I noticed the pirs were not blinking when any movement should've been detected. I traced it to the 500ma fuse in the control box ( F3 ). I duly replaced the fuse and it worked fine for a few hours, whereupon i noticed that again the pirs had stopped blinking. replaced the fuse again and the same thing happened again. My query is can you point me in the right direction as to fault finding the circuit please and as to what the problem might be, especially as the alarm works for a couple of hours before dying. Hi I have inherited an alarm - don't know what it is: just says Concept System on the panel in a cupboard and we have a separate keypad with Concept Advanced Microprocessor control on a sticker. We didn't get a manual or anything when we bought the house - just the code It started beeping on the internal sounder last night (about 4 AM!) about every 40 seconds. I think it may be a battery warning or something like that but don't want to mess without information. Any help gratefully received.

Hi, Am moving at short notice to a new house with no security system. It is a 2 bed semi, on 2 floors. I require door contacts on front and rear doors, pir's in hall, lounge, and 2 bedrooms. Problem is that the house has all stone wall interiors so cabling inside stud walls just isn't going to happen. Also newly decorated so i don't want walls wrecking! Any suggestions on the sort of cost involved in me getting someone to install such a system, also where would you be liable to run cables (along skirting etc)? Looking at the old messages on the site, it doesn't seem like the professionals think too much of most of the wireless systems. Unfortunately, like a total eejit did the plasterwork and floors before the alarm , so I would really like to avoid running cables. Is there a wireless system worth installing? I should mention that I have a conservatory, so even a newbie like me has concerns regarding the wireless PIRs. We have a site that keeps going no-response frequently, for short periods of time - usually 30 seconds to a minute. This only happens when the premises are occupied which leads me to believe it is something to do with them, rather than the system. They do/did have Sky digital connected to the same line as redcare and I asked them to disconnect it to try and rule it out though I was rather fishing about in the dark looking for a reason. Is there a known issue with Sky digital and redcare being connected simultaneously? Andy

Currently having a few problems with my labels. I use white on clear vinyl stuck to a blue nova 20. They look good and are very clear. What I have been noticing is that the very first of the batch are fading (have been up for 2.5 years) and when I have investigated I can run my fingers through the text and it comes off! Can't have this, so what I want to know is, is screen printing any good? What do companies charge for plate making? chris@protexalarms.com

I have moved into a house with an SL Compact alarm already installed. I need to sort out a maintenance contract but no one seems to have heard of it. Additionally, every security company I've contacted only seem to install and maintain rather than just maintain alarms. Could anyone advise whether I should just replace the system? It works perfectly, although there are no manuals. Has anyone got any of these? Many thanks.

I am looking for a quad CCTV unit that can connect to a laptop via USB or FireWire and allow the user to see all four inputs live at the same time. Anyone know where I could find such an item...? Thanks, Dave

Hi, Firstly please excuse my ignorance as I don't know to much about burglar alarms. I have just bought a house which has an optima XM alarm fitted but the optima XM panel wasn't working so has been pulled off the wall. All the IRs are still connected etc etc Unfortunately the guy who was going to fit the new panel can't do it no longer so I'm kind of stuck. I was thinking if I buy a new optima panel it will work with the XM wiring, I know it won't be as simple as linking the wires together but WILL it work or have the new optima panels got different requirements to the XM? I'm looking for an fai home security manual SGII to install the SGII, because Battery was empty. I have two electronic keys en two PIR's. The problem is the PIR's, there are many "jumpers", one of them can activate the PIR and program it to SGII. Is there someone can help me? Thanks!!

Dear All, What a very useful forum, I have been reading in the background for a while. I'm in the process of sorting an alarm out for my house. My local electrical dizzies stock the ADE Optima Compact G3 Alarm and the Simpleset Alarm reader. Are they any good? Should I concider something else for similar money. Also trying to decide on PIR'S, we have a cat so need pet friendly PIR's, what would you recommend. Lastly I am interested fitting SMShield at a later date, does anyone use this system, how do you find it. Andy
