Dear All, I hope someone will be able to help please?? Yesterday I replaced my ageing Scantronic 9452 control panel and Flash guard XL bell with a NEW Scantronic 9448+ and Flash guard value alarm sounder. The reason for this was two fold, firstly some of the keys on the keypad had stopped working and secondly the bell on the sounder had stopped working. Yesterday I managed to rewire the entire system. Everything now works absolutely fine apart from one thing. When the alarm is triggered the strobe flashes but the external bell box sounder does not work. Given that the sounder on the previous alarm did not work this makes me think of a possible wiring problem but also…

Found these today on a job I was installing. They were discovered by the sparks on site and he showed them to me. Superb little things, I love them being tied together with some string, imagine health and safety these days. The installer must have been a forerunner of our standards and regulatory bodies as he had written the installation date on them 12/12/1940 Not many of them left lying about now I bet!

Ive had too much of a discount off the house in the first place so they aint throwing anything else into the house. :) I have asked the site manager to do a few alterations to the design of the house but when it comes to the house alarm he is going to put me in touch with the electrician and give me a quote on what he recomends for the house. First of all can a general electrician fit the alarm, should i expect a certificate? As you can see im a total newbie to this, ive read the main website but it just seems a minefield. The house im buying is a detatched 4 bedroom house. (house will …

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/tyne/7785318.stm Cameras have been installed at a level crossing, to catch drivers putting the trains in danger. LPR cameras. I have not seen them, but may take a look sometime, but I would imagine by cameras they mean two (one for each direction) possibly three so their is a overview. Can you guess the cost? Six Hundred Thousand Pounds. For a few cameras at a level crossing - even buying top end lpr cams, excellent DVR's, wireless transmission or hard wiring the cabling I fail to see how they can justify that price....

Hope this is the right section. I'm a member of a motorsport forum and someone has had a bad experience with a company. So he has stated the fact's although seem somewhat exaggerated the company in question are responding. But the said company have showed a picture of the vehicle arriving at their site (cannot see car reg due to poor camera) and then leaving (or turning around) needless to say it's got a bit heated Then they posted this comment "would you like us to post the entire video up with all 6 different camera angles including the less than a minute workshop walk in then walk out? not a problem for us." How does this stand up because my impression is surely …

a. Have you heard of them? b. Apparently if you carry H waste (such as batteries) you should register with the environment agency as a carrier, and also register your premises if you store the waste before having it safely disposed of ...... Hands up who's gone down this road then.........
