Just a Hello from me ! I'm Jon and I install in the Midlands + Walsall area. I mainly work as a Self Employed installer and undertake contracts mainly for Electrical installers who do not have the capacity or expertise to install Door Entry, CCTV, Acces Control, Fire Detection and Intruder Systems. Any offers to install on a sub contract basis welcome ! I do have a motive for joining the forum and that is that I am trying to track down DA systems ?! I've just finished a private install where the customer asked me to use her old 'Abacus 6R' panel ! Any pointers to any LEGAL downloads of the Manuals for this panel would be great ! I cant get paid in full for the job …

Hi guys Just like to introduce myself. I'm not an installer, I'm a electrical wholesaler with a strong security bias. Maybe there is someone form the East Midlands on here that has heard of us, 'Alert Electrical'? Anyway, I'm not on here to bore you with another sales pitch, I thought I may be able to contribute with a bit of product knowledge, although I notice that you have already got Mark from Texecom on giving manufacturers info. Does anyone mind me using any of the product reviews? It always helps if we can add what a customer thinks of a product. Nice forum, looks very well put together.

A proper "Hello" to you all. I've already "met "many of the regulars, so to speak, in the various threads I've started or contributed to. I'm not an installer, but had to get interested in alarms etc following some untoward incidents in the neighbourhood! This forum has provided a huge amount of useful information for me. My work is scientific/technical, so I haven't had that much trouble understanding what's being discussed. Like any industry, it seems that learning the jargon is half the battle! As an end-user, I have found that my opinions on some topics often differ markedly from those of the installers, but one of the best things about this forum is that there se…

I've been lurking for a while now and thought it was time I popped my head up and said hello. I moved south to Hertfordshire from Liverpool in 81 after finishing my apprenticeship as an armature winder. After five years in aerospace making parts for machines that killed people, I joined Modern Alarms as an installation engineer. I moved to service after a week and loved it. I did 7 years on the tools before going into management which left me skint so I went back to service for a year before going into sales in 97. Left //.National Installer.// twice in moves to smaller firms that didn't work out financially but did allow me to learn about EAS and CCTV. Anyway, after ge…

I haven't been in this discussion group since a long time ago. I have been VERY busy with the new systems that we do, take a look www.nitevizun.com, anyone doing anything similar? It has been a real fun experience putting this type of Embedded systems together; but, it is paying off. We recently gained a GSA contract for the US Air Force in some of these. So I am definately interested in other companies/installers/etc. doing similar.

Hello everyone. Been logging into this forum for a while now so I have decided to join in and stick my oar in whenever I can. I am Paul Rainbow and have spent a few years installing low end CCTV, speccing higher end and selling everything almost. I was getting fed up with the service and broken promises of other suppliers so I decided to do something about it! I have launched an internet shopping site for CCTV called www.securityinstore.com and I am very proud of it! It is a new site so please feel free to pull it apart, or offer constructive criticism! I look forward to getting to know this site and it's users and hope I can bring something to the party as well.

I just joined the board and look forward to learning from the posts, here. I've got some experience with physical security assessment and system design, but I am new to the technical, hands on, side of things. I look forward to participating and learning new things. Anyway... I just wanted to say "Hello". I'll probably be lurking about and using the search function a good bit, but I'll likely post a stupid question every now and then, too!
