Line lock or V-Phase is used when theres 2 or more cameras on a system, because the cameras are connected to the same switcher , if the video signal from the camera isn't triggered at the same time as one another there become a period in the combined video information where they become out of synchronisation with each other, The next image then needs to catch up and this is what causes the images to roll. The power supply is used as a reference point between the cameras and is used with AC supplies.

Gen-lok is an older way of doing things and requires that you linked the cameras together with a sync cable, allowing them to match the syncs and prevent rolling.

Hi Jarvis78

If you're having a problem with v-phasing or linelock as described above, send me a PM and I'll give you a nifty trick for sorting it out without needing to buy a phase meter.

I went up into the attic...I found a Stradavarius & a Picasso. Unfortunately.....

Stradavarius couldn't paint, and Picasso made a shocking fiddle.
