Advice On Sensor Positions

Yea one of those

Prefer them ones myself but it's personal taste .

Have you decided on a panel yet ?

Yeah that one looks much more aesthetically pleasing :) (Thought it was a strobe of some sort at first)

Panel wise, Currently looking at the Scantronic 9651 and the Euro mini panel (Castle Pyronix?) I just wish the euro had a more standard looking keypad.

Yuasa batteries are recommended.

I am sure them contacts (Red Resistors) do DP and also 4K7/2K2 which is Menvier/Texe stuff.

Ah yeah I was looking at that Texe 24 panel so I instinctively went for red. I'll get the right ones when the time comes. :)

Those panel are still grade 2

Fitted loads of normal R8's in my time they are quite good but would rather go for the castle euro mini or galaxy g2-12 /flex with LCD display instead of LEDs .

Oh sorry dint relise it now takes the LCD Keypads . As on the premier series .

Still only has same programming as the r8 which may be limiting depending on what your looking for .

On a diy system why do want graded? The accents falls down on grading due to keypad substitution and battery recharge time that's all.

I was just surprised to find it wasn't graded. I understand that grading really only means something if it's been installed professionally, for arc's ect. A reliable panel means more. Not sure what you guys use (used) for your bells only (if you even do that anymore)

The Accenta, Veritas R8 Plus and Euro all look like good panels for what I want to use for about the same price.

:: Accenta G4

+ I know how to use it, programm it.

+ I have a second keypad for one so I'm saving money there

+ Comes in a big metal box.

- Not technically a grade making it feel inferior

- No strobe timer

- Keypad can be a bit slow

:: Veritas R8 Plus

+ Seems to have more features (EOL/Silly thing like setting your own message on the LCD)

+ Can cancle strobe with bell

+ Looks like there are more outputs on the coms side, can connect to pc too

- Keypad is a cutdown of it's big brother

- It's texecom but it seems a solid panel

- It's from 1999 so the features might be limited

:: Euro mini

+ Seems to only be getting positive feedback and I know alarm engineers are using these

+ Has 10 zones so everything can be on it's own zone

+ EOL

+ Metal case

+ Biscuit ID

- Keypad looks cheap and a bit ugly, but it is an LCD and probably isn't that bad

- Menu looks like it has lost of un-neccessary features

- Don't really know the brand, I keep seeing "euro" and "castle pyronix"

Not sure if it has a strobe timer.

Can't make my mind up :(
