    I need some irrefutable proof from the experts on this one since a local electronics boffin appears to doubt the integrity of the term 'two way' when related to wireless detection. The claim, basically, is that the panel does not 'talk to' detectors, but rather it interrogates it's own received signals from detectors, but does not actually interrogate the detectors themselves only the received signals.

    Face to face, and a bit of background history is usually sufficient for me to know what the real situation is. Called out regularly with "...the man who installed the alarm doesn't do it anymore.." and a hundred and one other comments.. last one used four core, no tamper, on the detectors... story goes on...and on...and on.

    Would a installer who chats to me and tells me how wonderful is work is, and what a brilliant business he has..even though I know he won't be trading in six months time be regarded as a 'blagger' ?

    "...No steel is cheaper in low numbers I prefer plastic, easier to work with..." Isn't there more of a chance of distorting a plastic panel unknowingly when mounting on a wall which may appear to be perfect..I should imagine this applies more to diyers than professionals though.

    Are you referring to the 4G server. Read on the site some time back that there is a compatibility issue with some servers..

    Seems the manufacturers have made a tidy profit with plastic, mould includes mounting pillars, cut outs etc. etc. I would suggest we go back to steel for all panels but the inevitable excuses are probably "cheaper for the customer"..."shortage of steel"...etc. etc.

    Doesn't it depend on the recording medium for continuous recording ? 90 days seems a barnful.

    Isn't Visonic an Israeli company (although taken over by tyco).. No disrespects to our Jewish friends but I'll stick with Pyronix (and Castle). Although I wouldn't **** my nose up to Visonic at the right price. A lot said about HKC on the forum..think it's time to look at that.
