  1. bear in mind this will become a tickbox feature as lower end gear adds it as a feature that wont work at all like movement detection on traditional dvr's etc
  2. Visonic do shock sensors look at adding those
  3. depends on what you class as cheap. I think so yes, acceptable but low end. A decent hard wired pet tolerant sensor is more than a wireless visonic one. But i dont like them as a theory. If you have pets then peremiter protection is the way to go imho
  4. Its a whole other topic but 'pet' sensors are awful especially the cheap ones
  5. I dont know what you mean. There isnt a native open data out if thats what you mean?
  6. there is shedule stuff on hkc
  7. battery life im unsure of, but worst case ill change to 1.5v lithiums Opentherm does work on zones, i run my zones as rooms you can add upto 8 (iirc) trvs per room so opentherm would call for heat output from the boiler based on heat required for the rooms calling for it etc. Nest wouldnt work for me which is why i went for the drayton. The trv's arnt mesh so require powered boosters if range is an issue but in my old cottage I didnt need any
  8. Following on from another thread. I use ifttt and my hkc 10270 with my drayton wiser heating system As it change the mode to away when fully armed i use a modified tr2 as my boiler is too old to support opentherm As the tr2 measures the (single room its located in) temp the boiler still modulates its power output rather than just on and off The wiser system then calls for heat by changing the boiler mode to 'comfort' from frost Plus im on LPG so any savings are magnified due to the fuel cost. Some rooms have more than 1 radiator. I prefer the accuracy of the room stats and will be getting at lease 1 more of these
  9. Yes set at 5 degrees I live out in the middle of nowhere, badgers little deer pheasants etc never had success with it but I haven't tested the gear Pete uses But sunlight, rain etc are issues beams are immune too. Also fog etc. Plus my alarm etc is battery backed my cctv isnt
  10. I only use beams and detectors both wired and wireless for notification and external lighting only. Heating is by alarm set status not yet on a per room basis but i might do this.
  11. you wont be able to link them in that way. I do what your trying to do with beams and external sensors at home. It also controls my heating modes (ie away etc) based on set status also using ifttt. I get app notifications when armed and chime when disarmed But i dont use pyronix anything. Its HKC which is a pro installer only panel. You could get similar with more available kit, ie the spc or dimension but it wont be a simple programming job
  12. Sorry never used one. Pir wise I've used takex and redwalls
  13. Flexibility wise I'd go spc or dimension both will take rf too
  14. Pixel count is one aspect of many things that make up final image quality. Chipset and lens quality is more important ie 8mp digital cameras to not provide the same quality image if so why does anyone buy slr etc
  15. I'd use the optex beans but not the pyronix stuff. You might want something more powerful/flexible than an enforcer it's a basic cheap panel
  16. Probably not when your mains is off That's because they are not working properly, chances are they have never been serviced
  17. But as I said above it appears you don't set your alarm at night as it won't alert when it's arned
  18. A mains failure to the alarm needn't be a full house failure, could be a multitude of things and your TV would stay on
  19. Usually once you enter a code to acknowledge the failure it will be silent. Plus if its armed it is also
  20. remove all the cabling for it in the control panel, power and circuit. YOu will then have to remove the tamper from the loop and link out the circuit
