No... it would still have to have a 'pet program'. Dualtechs are more stable than PIRs alone in environmental conditions but on its own this has nothing to do with pet tolerence.

They are dual techs so use heat as well as doppler to detect objects. Whilst a cat will of course still show up on doppler (microwave) the combination of the two signals allows the sensor to make much better informed decisions.

Pet PIRs can be very good, esp. if a single cat I would have no hesitation in recommending two Vanderbilt PIR's - (IR120c or e-line) the only drawback being both are effectively discontinued due to changes in ownership. I'm sure others can make a recommendation though? Perimeter protection is a good idea, but needs to be done properly and ideally internal doors should be locked. Without an expander you will very quickly run out of zones too, as I would personally only fit one device per zone, in the old days it would be common to have an entire floor on one zone of window/door contacts.

Historic England won't thank you though; next time just go for the copper, and spend 1/3 of the payout on a Vanderbilt SPC. Trust me.

AFAIK the LCD keypad can only translate 'LED data' from the system into locally defined messages. So if the keypad is showing what I would assume is the 'default screen' it suggests the data connection to the panel has been lost, just the power remaining, or the panel is goosed other than the PSU. Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Intruder has gained access by circumventing a locked door - so if door remains locked, nil problemo. I agree that it could be a grey area if, say, intruder was able to walk into somewhere without the use of tools or equipment then not be able to leave, i.e an open gate into a car sales forecourt that then locked itself. That said it never seemed to be an issue with those pushbutton-to-exit-if-you-haven't-got-a-shotgun bank lobbies that seemed popular circa 2000 but now are usually swept away at refurb time. Nationwide seemed to use them a lot?

I find customers just love confusing sequences of flashing lights to indicate some arbitrary problem, anything from set fail to tamper, and pretty much hate such modern fangled nonsense like a keypad that accepts the devils tokens and speaks to them in plain English like some sort of electronic witch. That said, maybe you're from Somerset too.
