We use ipads with cases, engineers have had them over two years now and only one has a cracked screen, and thats still usable. Ipads are pretty good compared to the cheaper driods, the batteries last forever too

The Control equipment decides if there is a confirmed signal, if a second device is triggered the control equipment will send a different signal "confirmed" and this is the only signal that you should Police assuming that the system in question has Police response and that the abort times have been observed. Duplicate signals could be sent for many reasons, if the signaling equipment did not receive a message back from the receiver (Kiss Off) or a dual path system sending both paths at the same time. These signals are not because the alarm has been triggered twice.

No we used a friend of mine to do it, he tailored it to our requirements. It cost us around £2k to get the development but he recently charged another co £600.00 theirs was more basic than ours and he had done all the hard R&D with us. But its improving all the time now, sometimes we make an improvement and it makes a problem somewhere else but its soon picked up and fixed. I havent yet started using the surveys, only because I have had a lot on just recently but we will do over the next few weeks. The online acceptances has been working for several years, we do have the odd problem with that because its tailored for both commercial and domestic there are a lot of irrelevant questions, so we are working on changing this to a yes no survey type online form that produces the form at the end.

We also use Sage and AM, and have a web based jobsheet and acceptance of quotes system, we are currently working on the quotes now. We should be able to write the spec as we walk around the property and at the end of it produce a full written specification with price that can be instantly emailed to the customer. The only problem I can foresee after some of the tests we have carried out is trying to quote several disciplines at the same time, as it would require switching between urls on the ipad. We looked and trailed AMs jobsheet but it was too unreliable for us, I have heard that its got better though so may be worth taking a look.

Good kit I would say easy to program one of the first with an app, which compared to the others Ive seen is pretty good. The bus wiring is really useful if you have to upgrade a failed id system. Customer love the fact that it talks

You need to post stuff so that we have an idea that you are not a chancer. Read the vetting page again your application would not have been looked at all the while you had made less than 5 posts, you have now made 5 posts but all of them asking for trade access, nothing posted about bout the actual trade you work in. Look at it from our point of view would you let you into a trade area based on the posts you have made?

As far as I am aware you have not applied, in order to do so you need to follow the instructions on the vetting page, so far you have not even made enough posts, and the posts you have made do nothing to prove to us that you even saw a video on you tube about alarms, let alone trade.

How far do you go with it though? I had a customer who put some pir flood lights in after we fitted the CCTV and then complained that the cameras couldnt see at night anymore, when the engineer played back the recordings for night the lights were opposite the camera and just filled the picture. I could add a caveat about lighting but I dont think I will ever come across anyone that stupid again, same with ADSL, but it has happened to me yet, I may add a line that says the quality of remote view is dependant on the speed and quality of your BB service.

Well I must admit that I dont have any statements relating to the speed of ADSL and remote view, but I would have thought that it common sense.Just like no ADSL no remote view But I would show them the CCTV over the LAN to prove that there is nothing wrong with your kit, and tell them that if they had told you that they were still using dialup then you would have explained that it would not work.
