  1. Why connect the float alarm to the burglar alarm? Surely you only need to be informed if there is a problem. You could wire it up to a doorbell or similar.
  2. welcome and hi
  3. Hi and welcome Drew
  4. Not to mention that he has to give half the money back because the wood was not as described
  5. I think I was simple back then...........come to think of it
  6. Its a pity james deleted about 1,000 of my topics, it would be nice to see how green I used to be back in the day
  7. IP alarms theres a blast from the past his website is now selling Voip for business, he obviously realised that if you dont charge enough for something, you lose motivation for selling it
  8. I think if your going to have a monitored system (Self monitored albeit) adding smoke detectors double the value, not in money terms, I mean in terms of having twice the coverage. The risco quote is more comprehensive, but if your BB is reliant on your phone line you need to be sure that the phone line cannot be compromised before you dismiss paying extra for the GSM. Adding smokes to the Texe wouldnt cost that much more, on the same token nor would adding GSM to the Risco
  9. 2015 Lets hope it hasnt been clicking up until now though
  10. Gardtec 595 593 or 600
  11. Guttering had leaked directly down the back of the bell and ingress'd the PCB It didnt tamper it just chirped
  12. Cant stop a runnaway bell though, yes I know they all have timers nowadays, but I had one chirping every couple of minutes for several hours until we could get the engineer there, apparently drove the neighbors mad
  13. The Vanderbilt rep got back to me, he say these guys are in your area, checking their website I cant see that the are NSI or SSAIB though. http://www.vidionics.co.uk/
  14. The installation is not the problem, its the fact that Reading is too far away for us to be able to provide the quality of service that you would expect. If there is a fault or problem with your system we would struggle to give a same day service, an out of hours call-out would be a real pita for the engineer on-call. Although we can log in to it remotely and program bits, it still doesnt resolve all hardware faults that may go wrong. I would much rather turn away work, than take on someone we cannot look after properly.
  15. I have just emailed him
  16. If you want a really nice keypad you could glue an ipad to your wall and connect it to a Risco panel via the app LOL I shall call him in the morning
  17. Reading is a bit far for us otherwise I would send one of our chaps up to quote. I can ask the Vanderbilt rep who your nearest installer is if you would like.
  18. I didnt mean to do that, I was just saying that the Risco panel is okay. The Seimens would normally be £100/£200 more than what we would charge for a budget system. We normally use these panels on commercial and very large domestics. They are very good quality panels though solidly built. Medium to large domestics we use the HKC again more expensive compared to Risco (Around £100) but better quality.
  19. If you get an installer that knows Risco well, the Risco panel will be fine. Risco is our budget system, and to be fair they did go downhill for some time, and the programming can be unnecessarily complicated if you are not familiar with programing them, but touch wood I havent had any problems with a Risco panel for the last 9 months and the app is one of the best. Our premium systems are HKC and Vanderbuilt (Siemens) and like for the like the Risco app is as good if not better in some ways. The only thing I would say is that the keypad is a bit cheap looking on the Agility.
  20. Crap detectors crap bell crap panel for £150.00 I pay that just for a panel! Mind you I dont have to keep going back to stuff under warranty
  21. Add detection, bell, cable, internal sounder, battery, and VAT and you still wont have much change from £500 though.
  22. I was told that Hik made an offer on Paxton but it was turned down, they are in the market for a UK access Control Co
  23. I wasnt talking to you
