hello again everyone! I'm just wandering what you all use for doing quotes and designs? our jobs are getting a little too big to continue scribbling on the back of fag packets and i'd like a tablet so, for example, i could take an ariel view from google maps and draw on it there and then - bonus points if i can then attach a keyboard to make it become a laptop for office work. I've been considering the surface pro but looking online, a lot of people suggest against windows due to it being sluggish and lack of apps etc (although it would be very useful for configuring CCTV, alarms, etc) i'd like opinions and suggestions from people who've used various products. …

I've got a echo dot , along with Philips hue bulbs and a Logitech harmony hub , I think this is just the start to home automation as there is thousands of things you can do with it . Been pestered by the kids about getting a mifi mobile broadband device to take away with us on holiday. Am I missing the point here and thinking isn't it just the same as having data on your phone ? Anyone had experience with using such a device.

Fir some reason our LCD Tv in the dinning room has recently taken to switching itself on, meaning we have to unplug it. Not that it was new when bought but a bargain price for the time, so five years on,i make a note to get new (larger) one for games playing. - yipee! With so many products trying to switch us to cloud based products, is this to soon? I use Intuits Quickbooks, they offer desktop and cloud based systems, much as Office 365 amongst others. Given the fun and games O2 had, with their mobile services going down i am reticent to trust others services so fully. i do lodge backups on several free services, and I can see the advantages of working from anywhere i have WiFi, and if my laptop breaks-down or is stolen, but my fear is of losing access. Eggs all in one basket, the VAT man won't be to happy if all my records are now trashed due to a remote software service server being hacked as example. what do others think?

Ok, now we have appx release dates for both the new XB1 and PS4, anyone buying on release day or playing it cool so to speak and waiting until after Christmas for the sales. Which platform will you go for? You pay to play on Xbox 'live' but you do get better anti hacker protection than Sony network PS4 thus far for me lacks a killer tittle for it's launch, Socom 2 on PS2 was my game team favourit of all time, but hackers just eventually killed it . i was viewing i think on the 'WATCH' channel an episode of a Police documentary, obviously an older episode but showed using a high powered bike to film other speeding bikers, pulling wheely's and other dangerous acts. The Copper riding the unmarked 180+ MPH bike remains anonymous, simply radio's ahead to marked cars parked up, who then pull over then safely pull the bikers at junctions. he never reveals himself by actually stopping anyone. comment that caught my attention is the main copper said they call him their 'STIG', but i bet the disgruntled bikers on learning that who got caught by him call him 'STIGGY' .

in case you missed it, been reported a trojan app has infest thousands of Android devices mainly in Russia and far east. This program was properly bought by developers and used to aggressively to advertise other apps and increase their revenue, which also increased the spread. it got under the rogue activity radar by acting normally for quite a while, laying dormant waiting until a signal was sent by the control server to infected devices, ordering them to text or contact premium rate services. item was on BBC world news that Game and other app providers had to shut their sites to investigate and clean house, so not just skankey alternative app sites. afaik.nothing lik…

if like me you use small electric drivers, and were not aware such thing existed as impact screwdrivers - be educated now. recently on a site carpenters were laying flooring sheets, making a bit of a din running screws in, i'd assumed they were using the torque settings. then i noticed they were not piloting 1st, but drivng screws straight through the MDF into the joyce. having boarded my loft a few years back i was pretty impressed and asked if they were specially hardened screws, got shown this magic bit of kit. they were using,a Makita impact driver. before anyone posts a sneer, these must have been around for ages but i've never noticed them and so bet other engine…
