  1. Its why I said shorten the posts down, we get bored after the second sentence, one question at a time, you will get more sensible replies
  2. Mine too, just for the record.
  3. Wouldn't happen in the UK, insurers like to cover their bets here
  4. I would be double checking what your policy says if I were you, I think it highly unlikely that an insurance company would accept anything less than a system installed by an accredited company with at least dual-path grade 3 monitoring. I would expect that a goldsmith studio will hold theft attractive stock and property, and I would expect the value of the contents to be in the thousands not the hundreds. Does your policy mention Police response? Just trying to save you a whole lot of heartache
  5. The kit is not that good their USP is they have offline doors, I would say thats a bad thing, the whole point of access control is that you have control theres a clue in the name. It is all closed protocol and expensive, but not as trouser droppingly as Indigo Vision Although it doesnt sound like it I actually agree, but we have one extreme to the other. Its almost impossible to join the Salto club and once your in the sales targets are stupid. I have several site with Salto because (and feck knows why) the customer specified it. The customer does nothing but moan about it now their in and in other parts of the country they are ripping it out and fitting Paxton almost the opposite to Salto in the respect that even Imran can be a certified Paxton installer. This industry does need a big shake up but I cant see it happening in my lifetime
  6. Not sure id agree on the enforcer bit but its the right idea if you have no clues on what to do, wireless is ideal for DIY
  7. Please dont post the default codes in public. You would be better breaking your questions down, there are far too many questions in one topic, it makes it too messy trying to answer everything you have asked in one post
  8. Salto are a law unto themselves, if your not in the Salto club they dont want to know you. Even the Salto stand at IFSEC was a waste of time for anyone that wasnt registered withem already.
  9. I did, I cant be rarsed with wires in holes anymore. I just thought if the pictures were there someone might actually help. Mind you I cant see the panel connections that well the picture is to poor
  10. I was thinking to myself how did Steve know the driver was fat .............then I though oh yeah
  11. They metered them from the panel, its not a good idea to keep undoing screws it only makes the tamper switches work loose. You can tell from the resistance on the tamper circuit if its on its way out. Anyway the service contract is not just about coming and checking that everything works as it should be. The contract covers you 24/7 in case you have a fault, like say a bellbox going off that you cant stop for example. Pyronix bellbox's are well know for plastic flexing causing tamper faults, the heat up in sunlight and expand. My advice would be find another co and get the box changed for anything other than a Pyronix box
  12. Same panel rebadged The rules of this forum do not allow links to engineering manuals
  13. did you try Racall Countess or DA monitor 6 manuals?
  14. I wondered if it was Ive only ever played with the accords 4110 wasnt that popular iirc
  15. I was thinking the same, it takes but a few secs for HKC panels
  16. Hi Neil it worked for me just now, it may be that you are not a trade member the downloading permissions are different, for non trade. I also remember there is a thing on how many posts you have made before you can do stuff like PM another member, so it maybe that. The minimum is 5 posts
  17. All these big companies are the same Scottish Power, AO, Virgin Media, in fact most telecom companies. I always try to use a smaller reputable company, I look for accreditation and then check out the accreditation too just to be sure I have a come back. (Check-A Trade is not an accreditation). My advice would be to look for a smaller company you will get someone who cares about their reputation as long as you dont go for the cheapest you can find.
  18. You really should be rotating you van stock more often
  19. That panel is at least 20 years old, they stopped making them in 2000. I know that its not very green but these panels where never that good when they where new. With no idea of the history of the system or if it works or not, my advice would be to replace it with something newer, albeit if you do it yourself or get a professional in. Its a hard wired system and so all the cables are in place, unless they have been cut or damaged I would start by metering those if theyre okay then just update the lot, no point in having something if its going to be unreliable a annoy your neighbours
