We only use elmdene, only had faults like this with handed contacts until we swapped

Does not matter for sensing the amature, the dimple you'r on about is a spring is designed to push the amature off the lock when no power to lock, and is to be fitted furthest from the door hinge.

Are you allowed on to the wifi network?
If so look at access points, and you will probably need agreement with their IT company and some static ip addresses assigned for the cameras.
Whats the kit you have already ?
