  1. I echo Hillbilly's comments... If you spend money on a repair I've no doubt you will be spending again in the not too distant future... Better to put the money into an upgrade
  2. Hi, when was it last serviced and had a new battery installed?
  3. Does the keypad lid give any zone information? It would also be worth verifying what zone led stays illuminated when you are trying to set the system
  4. I agree a mains interlinked smoke alarm would be a better all round solution, I've fitted countless aico smoke detectors had very few issues and really rate them... The other point to consider is if you get any false alarms from one linked to your intruder alarm then your external bell is also likely to sound
  5. I would suspect the sensors you mention (CP Electronics / Danlers etc) all have photocell and time adjustment on detection with NC / NO contacts where for instance the Texecom AM360 QD has a NC contact (No time adjustment on detection unless you start integrating a timer into your final circuit)
  6. Just be wary if you have a bathroom in close proximity of the proposed location for the detector as the steam can cause some detectors to trigger I rate the cooper / Menvier M12 detectors as they can be changed from smoke to heat or a combination unit with dip switches inside they can do any of the following combinations:- Optical Optical & rate of rise Rate of rise Fixed Temperature
  7. My family has a property they rent out and it has an alarm in it, if there were any issues with it I certainly would not expect the current tenant to put their hand in their pocket to resolve unless it was due to malicious damage.
  8. Hi John, Be mindful if you have any pets that are likely to be in the same room as a PIR then you will need to opt for a pet detector
  9. The euro keypad is very neat, it has a backlit blue LCD display and has the ability to arm / disarm via a prox token or code. I've never had a bad word said about them when installed..
  10. To me it sounds like you have an intermittent tamper issue.... All the devices within a normal alarm system (detectors / bellbox / control panel / keypad etc) are normally tamper protected (I use the term normally as not every body installs to the same standards) Its is likely that there is an issue with one of these devices or the cable that goes to it. I would be certainly asking the landlord (or reviewing your tenancy agreement) to understand where the responsibility lies before doing anything .
  11. I've used the system Q one before, its called Voice off it has multiple alarm triggers and you can add additional speakers to it
  12. Hi Ray, may I ask what is the reason for changing the sensors in the first place? If they satisfactorily detect within the area they are projected towards / you are not experiencing any false alarms and register at the control panel when triggered.. It may be worth keeping them installed.
  13. The PIR (in the first picture) looks like its manufactured by Crow, Im sure I have used these in the past without issue.
  14. im still sticking with electronics line micro X (maybe early version)
  15. it looks a bit like an electronic line Micro X (Dual Tec) - but I cannot see the microwave part of the sensor
  16. Hi, your best bet would be to look for an approved alarm company or if you let us know what issues you are having one of us may be able to give you a steer in the right direction
  17. Do you have a spare keypad you can try (to rule out a keypad issue) Check you haven't disturbed any connection both at the keypad and panel end Another suggestion to try:- Power the unit up mains only As I know if they are powered up battery only (on a suspect battery) this could cause an issue
  18. I agree with Hillbilly I have installed a good few CPX systems and not had any real hassle. It seems as if the wireless programming has either been altered or some how corrupted. Can you not hardwire the zones if you have lost confidence in the wireless element of the system ?
  19. Is zone 1 a door contact?
  20. Hi, The display is showing zone 1 as currently open, so if this is what the displayed showed when you disarmed it I so would suggest its an issue with zone 1. Have a look at the detector that is zone 1, does there appear to be any damage to it or the cable that goes it it? Obviously speculating here & would need to be checked out properly but very possibly a faulty detector and or cable ..
  21. Last time I did this I had to speak to vista tech, from memory I had to give them dvr model number etc / clock time / date & they told me a code to type in there may be a easier way though
  22. Yes I have put banner text on a recent 9651 takeover
  23. euromini or texecom elite would be my choice
