  1. sorry yes that is correct - reason I said flex is its a similar size / shaped to a 1.5mm twin & earth
  2. At home I installed a inline Sure stop solenoid just after the incoming stop tap, has a meter of "Flex" that allows you to mount the isolation switch in a convenient / accessible location. Nice & easy to install. Always ensure the water to the house gets switched off if away for a few days or on holiday! http://www.surestop.co.uk/owners/
  3. Another consideration is what make of battery's are you putting in your wireless sensors?
  4. I certainly would consider change the control panel battery if it was installed in 2011 Is there any moisture issues located round where the patio sensor is located (Could any moisture be tracking through onto the pcb?) You could just have a sensor that has developed a fault! May be worth replacing that one sensor if all other sensors are issue free?
  5. As you don't know anything about the functionality / quality of the system installed I would suggest the best way forward would be to call out an approved alarm engineer to take a look at the system and advise on the best way forward.
  6. You could always but a caviat in your quote stating cable routing & installation has been installed by a third party
  7. I'm fairly sure the keys are back lit all the time on these but its been a while since I fitted one
  8. I've used the GJD GSM Diallers on a few occasions and never had any issues. I think from memory it will only take certain network sim cards
  9. The keypad could of been knocked causing a issue with the tamper spring or simply a bad termination. As long as you've sussed it that's the main thing
  10. I would certainly try linking out the keypad tamper at the panel end... and would also consider a full default They still do offer tech support. I called them recently as had two accentas at one address on a bells only system (One in house & the other in the garage) The customer called me to say on both units the power LEDS were flashing. After inspecting them the units had a stable mains supply to them, the output from the panel transformer was within tolerances. The battery's were both a year old (Changed on the last service) also tested fine with my ACT battery meter. Tech support couldn't offer me an explanation, the only thing I could conclude that there had been a mains surge. The daft thing is after extensive testing both systems are fully working but the mains led's continue to flash.
  11. I do know the accenta has a service timer on it, if the issue reoccurs it could be that (it is resettable / disabled in the engineers menu) I have this happen before, one beep every 5 mins or so signalling service due
  12. I would say other, no sign of any water ingress, cable was not installed in such a way so water would track through to the bell. I
  13. I've had a about three Honeywell bells randomly chirp then go off for no apparent reason in the past (usually when just out of warranty) - everything checked out ok with the rest of the alarm when tested (No sign of any water ingress either) Swapped them out for texecom bells & not had any issues since from those systems..
  14. Are you sure you are entering the correct code to reset it?
  15. They look like derwent (now Bosch) Let me know where you end up sourcing them from & the cost please as I could do with stocking a few
  16. Could you install the cable in 20 or 25mm galv conduit so mechanical & physical protection are met
  17. Hi, the En as I understand it, the unit is in engineer mode. (ie you have entered the engineer code)
  18. That's great (Cheers), many thanks for providing the link
  19. Hi, Im struggling to find out if an Optex 35t & Optex RX40 PIR conforms to grade 2, is it possible anyone could kindly advise? Thanks in advance
  20. If the rooms are occupied at night then a suggestion would be shock sensors on the windows
  21. I had exactly the same issue, wish they would have HDMI, BNC & VGA outputs so you would have plenty of options
