  1. its from the era when more than 16 circuits was rare & expensive.... 10 latching sensors on one zone complied I assume there's more than 1 large steel box for the controls ?
  2. it will work for a while....
  3. they can do odd things like the above or continue to sounder the internal alarm after you've silenced it... they appear to play up more with age, l'd rip it out & put something new in
  4. Ford Scorpio, these are a similar age to 4600 but cost a lot more £ at the time see many on the road ? expect to get parts easily for one ? expect the local ford agent to support one ? expect the people who where experts in 'em 25yrs ago to be still around? I could attend & look at a 4600, probably bodge a broken transmitter back to life or wait for used / BNIB to turn up on fleabay. 2 visits is gonna probably going to cost half the cost of new system.
  5. the OP said 1999 ish- That back when people had CRT Tellys & VHS, (1999 argos book) gosh I feel old....
  6. ideally you need an alarm man who been at it a long time or is experienced with working with old tat if you don't have yours maintained there gonna be no one with experience of working with it, the bloke who once fitted them are either dead, retired, no longer on the tools or chucked it & doing something else so you appear to have either got a fault on the tamper switch or the tamper terminals if you've very luck you may be able to bridge the switch or rework the terminals with an iron. also work all the dil switch up & down a few times, just encase the address is not right personally I'd have ripped out & stamped on it years ago.
