does anyone know of where i can purchase a powermax + at trade prices? i have looked at a few different systems and found the powermax + to be the most suitable. look forward to hearing from your replies. Martin

Fitted one of these on thursday, first one and ill do a report on it when ive got time, customer came down stairs this morning lounge pir starts entry timer enters code but it dosent stop entry timer and a full alarm is generated they kept trying there code and it wouldnt accept it bell cuts out after 15 mins but then goes into alarm again they said after a period of time there code then worked. Ive been out tonight and there code seems to be working, im going to wait till morning and return to test it some more didnt want the bells ringing late at night. Any ideas what the cause might be.

One of our customers sacked his manager today and asked for the codes to be changed on a Karizma panel. The only problem was he didnt have any user or master codes as his manager had been dealing with the alarm for him. Our engineer didnt have a manual with him so called ADE tech support and asked for the defaulting of codes, only to be told that this information was not given over the phone as he could be anyone. Our engineer then said that proof of his identity could be gained by looking up our phone number on the NSI web site and calling the office and checking. Just wondered how you lot may have found the new GuardTec CPX panel with built in dialler & Digi ? We've fitted loads of CP8 LCD's and their great for what they are, but under pressure from the Rep I gave the new CPX a go. Wasn't impressed... The user had agreed to go for keyholder response monitoring but also liked the idea of getting a message when 11 year old Johnny got home from school on his own at 16:00hrs and unset the system. One of our guys fitted a v7 panel today and then found he couldnt change any codes from default. After much head scratching and telephoning it turned out that the option for grade 3 was turned on which means that codes must have at least 5 digits. As it was a grade 2 system he deselected that option in system config, et voila, ok to use 4 digit codes. Just thought it might be one to look out for

Got notified a few days ago that Honeywell have ceased manufacturing the Accord XPC. no spares are now available apart from existing stocks. It was a fairly reliable but basic panel and i'm not gonna miss them. I still mourn for the 9100 Rock solid legend in it's own lifetime. Which one do you guys miss most? and why Regards Bellman

Went to Bosch HQ today for an intro to their new EN range of G2 and G3 panels. Anyone else seen them? They look nice - but I don't think there is anything fundamentally different to anything else - although Bosch are saying that the panel is future proofed and dedicated to new EN whereas all other manufacturers have simply extended their current systems to meet the requirements . They have an interesting special maintenance package that allows you to check everything (such as detectors that haven't detected for a while, what zones have been walk tested, what your engineers really did on their service etc.). Gor called out to a customers site today having a weird proble, just wanted to see if you guys had seen this before as i dont tend to use these panels. I have to go back tommorow with the Engineers manual (which hopefully is in the downloads) When the customer does the PART option, he goes to bed up the stairs via a Passive which on seems to be EE in PART mode, and Walkthrough on Full mode, sometimes when going to bed he sets it and the exit tone changes as he goes upstairs as the passive detects him, and then should shut off, most of the time it does but i witnessed this happen but sometimes it sticks even though the passive goes off it still says EXIT - Hall Pir (Or s…

I sold a PX34 which has 7 programmed circuits. Customer has a sauna and a bar in the third floor. They want automatic unset @ 6:30 and automatic set @ 22:00 from Monday to Friday. Any other time they will use their PIN code to set/unset. Problem is that usually sauna premises are being used approximately from 17:00 to 03:00 o'clock. How can I program the panel so that they could postpone the set time until they really leave the premises. I _thought_ I would do it so that I program circuits in both areas (1 and 2) and automatic set/unset would control area 1 and code would be used only to control area 2. So if either of the areas is unset then no alarm would occur.

Is anyone else having problems with the new ade id+ biscuits. Done a few jobs this year and had problems with most of them. I appreciate that some problems were from incorrectly numbered biscuits but that aside we're still having problems, particularly when connected to Menvier panels. The lines are so unstable (random tampers etc) On one site we have reverted back to the old biscuits and the problem has stopped. Have fitted id without any problem for the last 10 years but since the advent of the new id+ biscuits the installations have become a nightmare. Ok, situation is as follows: A laundrette which has the machine area (Ward A) at the front and an office (Ward B) at the back. The alarm is required to unset the machine area at 0700 and a seperate system will unlock the front door at 0730 to allow customers to use the machines. Staff arrive at 0830 and unlock the office and then unset Ward B. At the end of the working day the staff set the office (Ward B) and then go home. At 2030 a fire magnet lets to front door go and the seperate sytem then locks this door. At 2100 the System is then required to auto set Ward A. Sounds easy enough doesn't it?? Alrighty then, Can anybody enlighten me into the differences between the Premier 832 International and the Premier 24. (obviously the Max. Zones). Does 1 have more advanced features than the other. Does 1 support more variety of addons. The reason i'm asking this is.... As some of you may remember i recently got myself a Premier 816. Great little panel but it doesn't support all the addon modules. in particular the 1 I bloody wanted (IP-Com) I was debating getting a new board and swapping it over (when funds allow it). Didn;t want to make the same mistake twice. Also, anyone able to supply me with just a board (to mount in plaggy enclosure)
