Ok, this ain't some daft challenge, I need to know what panel this is. My girlfriends mums alarm has buggered up, the panel I have never seen, only the RKP, its about 4" wide by about 6" tall. The membrane keypad has the old styling of the scantronics about it. IE diagonally coloured two tone beige, a few LEDs, no seven seg display. (this is all from memory if your wondering) What does the old scantronic RKPs look like, did they have them for the 9300 era?

Fitted the above panel to a brand new house 18months ago. No problems from it at all. After a long-ish powercut, the customer says the system goes into tamper when any light in the house is turned on or off. It doesn't happen every time, but atleast half a dozen times in a week. Fried?? System reset??

an old panel i know... had look at manual and there does not seem to be any way of adjusting the charging voltage... one of neighbours asked me to have a look at his alarm as every time power goes off the external siren goes i.e no power so at first i thought it would be battery so grabbed a spare and just out of intrest wipped out the old act ibt and checked the battery installed,18 months old and well within its limits so checked voltage, just under 12 v on battery terminals. Most panels i have worked on have a pot for adjusting the voltage but not this one, i reckon the panel is ready for the bin... especially as it is old but just wondered if anyone has come across …

What would you guys suggest..? Remember he wants an onboard keypad with the option of adding a few remotes. I was gonna sugest an 816, but what are your thoughts..? I was also gonna suggest he steer clear of wireless peripherals, but comments/opinions are welcomed.

Bit of a scummy panel?? I have been asked to disable several PIR's while a conservatory is renovated and extended. I have disabled them all by opening the pir, and shorting the alarm contacts. When I return to put them back to normal, it would be nice to take the PIR cover off with out the alarm sounding B). I know the engineer code, just not sure how to enter the engineers menu to disable the tamper. (I assume just entering the menu will disable the tamper?) guys!

Got a problem with an ACE system here chaps. Recently upgraded the panel from a 800 to 816. Soon after the LCD RKP tells me that 'ACE battery low..press no' So we do this, replaced batteries in the fobs, still complaining. Replaced the fobs with new, still complaining. I can't get rid of this attention, it still pops up even if you set with the code and don't go near it with the fobs! Any ideas please!

Simple question for someone who does more with Menvier than me! I've got a domestic job at the moment where the customer has two areas that require seperate setting\unsetting. My first thought was a Menvier TS690 so I can set up the two areas as different wards with different codes. I was just wondering if the TS590 would do the job? I've not got a manual for the 590 but the info available on the Menvier site leads me to believe that it hasn't got wards, would this be unable to do the job?

Hi, just thought id share something i learnt the hard way on the Premiers today. Have just installed an 88 with the new version firmware 6.0, however this tip applies to 48's with version 3.0 onwards. If you are using comms it is crucial to make sure the Armed=Coms parameter in Area Options is left blank if you are using just one area. The idea of this parameter is to stop comms outputs activating until all areas have been set in multi area systems, although it doesnt seem to affect open/closing. I had a call from a customer who couldnt work out why his alarm had gone off and the arc hadnt called him. I know the digi was fine as i fully tested it on commissioning, but …

Just curious guy's. Went to a place today, person going away for Xmas and decides that the panel they've had for donkey's years should be serviced. (Not been looked at for over 10 years they said) Not one of ours, probably a DIY install, but the panel has no other markings than CPF2. Large slimline membrane keypad with no 0 key, Sey System & Omit 2 key's on it with 6 LED's. Looks like zones & possibly bell may be fed via keypad, but markings not clear on PCB, its badly corroded. I won't touch it as it is. It has a tamper fault on it and I'll only go for a new install on this one, as panel can't be reached easily, tucked into the far end of the loft & som…

Had a confirmed activation from a Gardtec 840 last night the engineer checked the log ZEX3 tamper followed by Z41 12hr alarm. He found the tamper switch on the expander may of tripped but no fault found to Z41. I went back and had another look today, called Gardtec tech help and apparently it is supposed to do that. If a ZEX tamper is tripped it will also trip the first zone on the expander to give a conformed alarm. Am I the only person not to know this or is it a Quirk?
