  1. Started by Wooly-bobs,

Reading Sec installer last night and noticed the promotion for the Captiv8. Has anyone used 1 yet? Are they released yet? I'm particularly pleased to see a different keypad orentation, a proper one instead of that god awful key arangement on the optima.

Mind blower!!! Fitted one of the new Aritech ATS master panels this week, only the small model, ATS 2000, with built in digi. Bit of a headache to programme at first as not used to the menu. quite a clever panel though and a lot of flexablity, up to 1 output for each zone, so 16 zones, then 16 outputs, plus the 3 internal for strobe, bell and sounder. The keypad is now called a RAS(remote arming station) because the panel is a access system as well as a alarm panel. The RLE's ar now called DGP's(data gathering point) because this is where you would connect your doors etc if used as access as well as zones. Each zone can signal differently and be programmed for reset …

I really should read the Eng's manual a bit more, but having just taken one over, can any one tell me if you can default the Eng & Manager codes on an 8136 without completely loading all the defaults (effectively wiping out all the zones etc)? I feel a panel change coming on Regards Chris

  4. Started by Chris Teague,

I know there have been similar postings / discussions in the past, but I'm looking for something flexible but sensibly priced. We use a lot of Gartec (593, 840 & 872) and its very good for most of what we do. The one thing Gartec does not do according to Technical is allow me to assign a keypad to a group. We don't want to move away from Gardtec, but I'm looking for suggestions on alternative panels for some of the more complex & grouped systems. Galaxy we love, but will be unlikely to make us very competetive. CSL 3020 & 3000 range is cracking, does just about the lot and in our opinion is better than Galaxy, but we are having a few probs getting hold o…

Ive just been to your web site and tried to submit my comment but is wont work so here it is: Are there any plans to "up" the quality of the eurosec LCD panel? Im looking for an eight zone panel, with LCD and zone descrips, but with metal end station. I have used several eurosec panels but the keypad quality and lack of metal end station option lets it down. An option of the eurosec panel with a metal end station and contour keypad would be ideal for me. A reply would be nice.

  8. Started by An Engineer,

What a load of toss, maybe a bit of training would help but in my opinion not at all engineer friendly. Anything that takes all programming and diagnostics away from the engineer can't be any good. (and I'm sure other //.National Installer.// engineers will agree, Sonics generally aren't much help)

Hi everyone Be'en asked to takeover a chubb site The existing panel is a Chubb 'Windsor' Going to change the panel but need to prepare before hand Does it use end of line resistors and if so what value ? How many cable cores between the end station and remote zone expanders ? If anyone has a manual for this panel it would be appreciated Can't beat being prepared (or thats what the scout leader used to tell me)

Hello there people. Need something confirming here. Came across a concept panel, the 6 zone version yesterday. Customer has had new windows fitted by the trained chimps at the council. Consequently the alarm no longer works! Will fix it no problem, surprisingly its the first concept 6 i've ever come across. Does the panel have any simularity to the XM 6 programming? OR does the panel have an eng lock out on tamper alarm? Ta!

I had some A5 plastic document wallets made up recently to stick to the front of control panels with double sided tape. they work a treat and stop customers loosing all your readings and stuff. If anyone else is interested then the company who did it was: Leven Plastics Ltd (01642) 761222

I was just reminded of the ADE Ultimate. Which I thought was an excellent control panel and the keypad was very attractive and blended in with any decor, and the programming was so easy with the welcome menu too. So come on tell me your views on it. I would like to have used these in my company but they are obsolete now but has a sister panel the karizma which I don,t thinks very nice and very dear equipment esp the UDL Equipment. So whats your views from dave @ Granley Security Systems

(Dave may be you could set up a poll with regards to this) How do you program a control panel. The hard way or The easy ? We use the Texecom Premier Controls and still have some Galaxy Panels which we,ve phased out in place of the texecom premier. When we install the intruder alarm or maintain it we always use the wintex software in our laptop which we use to program the panel changes, view/read store the panel log, etc. Which we find is so quick less hassle you in then out plus if the customer has a fault you can dial in and view the system. So what views do you all have of the remote access to panals via laptop/pc and what panels do you use. Lets hear you views do y…

I look after a large blue chip site with a thorn galaxy 500 fitted the problem is that when a 24 hour zone is activated ( about evey 10 mins ) due to the fence alarm etc, The customer puts in the user code and it wont accept the second digit of the code. This is the same on all the codes and there are about 20. Its the same on both keypads and they have both been repalced. Note it only started about 8 weeks ago. I have tryed it my self and it is the rkp / panel and not customer error. Please help as i am due to go back on tue 9,3,04 to sort it out whistle //.National Installer.// manchester :!: :!: :!:
