Hi guys not really familiar with the gardtech stuff but I've got a job which has a gardtec 800 panel version is recent and it has an older type keypad but the keypad is displaying TEST FAIL UNSET does anyone know what this means. It doesn't affect the system it can be armed but would like to find out what test fail meant and get rid of it on screen Thanks Dave

Hi Guys, I have had a knightmare day today trying to do extra work on a Menvier 2500. I have been assured that the new tsnodes are backward compatable with this panel. We tried to add some new circuits on a job wiring back to these nodes but for some reason the nodes would not register on the system. We had the jumper selecting the 2500 panel. When we fitted the node on the data line it would power up but would not receive any data so constant power flashing after re-learn. The voltage at the node was 13.48v and the cable run was approx 25m from the other xnode. The total data cable run was approx 75m from panel to last node. When we wired the node directly into the con…

  4. Started by tinnitus,

hello guys i have always fitted red care to gardtec 595 panels and tomorrow I'm fitting a gardtec digi. I'm also fitting the zone expander and possibly the output expander. anyway the questions are 1 The zone expander uses the 5 pin serial cable, so, does the output expander daisy chain from it? if so, does it matter what is 1st and 2nd on the line? 2 Does the digi also use the serial cable or does it use the green and yellow cable coloured connector with the 12 volt flying leads, like the STU interface cable? 3 is that 2 or 4 questions? i have left the stuff on site and didn't open it to check for myself and i don't want any surprises tomorrow. thank you chaps.

Has anyone tried old and new biscuits specifically on the ADE Karizma Plus? (circa 1999) I have a new customer, who needs ballpark figures for future faults??????? (don't worry, my calculator has lots of 000's for calculating lengths of string) My thought is to spec a new panel if iD biscuits start to fail, as I can then be confident of fixing it!. Your thoughts would be useful.

Can you help me please, intruder alarms are not my forte and a friend has asked me some advice. We have a small industrial unit with an un monitored alarm. The owner has a Texecom Veritas Excel panel in place and wants to remove/upgrade it for additional features. The key feature is the ability for the unit to be linked to the PC via LAN and automatically email a log of set/unset times. Is this possible? Is the equipment relatively cheap? Hopefully the answer is yes and yes!!!

  10. Started by tinnitus,

I recently said i liked the castle euro one panel. sorry. i have just replaced a lovely hassle free abacus for a Friday night project, i swear, the words "this is going better than thought it would" had just passed my lips at 1600 last Friday. 485 fail, wtf is it? its not the comms fail, maybe the rkp though. every so often while editing input descriptions or such like, the screen goes dark, the display scrolls back again then it all kicks off with 485 fail displayed! im thinking dry solder on the rkp pcb. Also, setting areas, A=final exit/timed. B=timed C=timed i cant change the timers for B and C exit time independently, they both go to the max time given i.e if …
