Hi all, Im a new guy to the industry. Just completed training on EST3 Fire Panels, soon to do a large installation. In the mean time i have been asked to install a Aritech ATS 2000 panel for an office. I have never done this and have no ATS knowledge. I have a small document "quick programming guide" that came with the panel showing programming via keypad?? Is there some software to program this panel? Free download or order?\ Thanx in advance

Hi Guys Am an installer of wireless alarms, amongst other things and wondered if you might be able to help. Have surveyed a cottage for a system. Really thick stone walls and the place seems like a rabbit warren. Propose to offer a wireless system but have concerns about signal strength. Occupants often away and have a gardener who attends whilst away. Position of cottage leaves them vulnerable as rear backs on to fields. Have outbuildings needing protection. Normally would install "Visonic Complete" and would use the exterior Tower PIR's (been successful in other applications) but not sure if signal quality would be OK. How to check? Propose partition so gard…

Hello all! I'm Kevin from Woodbridge in Suffolk. I have been in the security industry for over 10 years now and decided to start my own security company last year. I've worked as an engineer for 3 different alarm companies and an electric gate company too. Achieved an NVQ level 3 in intruder/fire alarm at Walthamstowe college in London and thought it was about time I gave running a company a go. I've set up with a small office and got a van, and I'm going it alone for now. I've just had an SSAIB inspection and passed, so I'm heading in the right direction (I hope). My company is called Suffolk Prestige Security.. Any advice and help is welcome. Not sure if I'm aloud…

Hi I'm Luke, I live near Winchester, Hampshire. Although my main forté is computers, web development, software, networking etc, I do have quite an interest in burglar alarms and security systems, despite not knowing anything about the installation of them. I would think it quite interesting to go round to people's houses/ businesses and install/maintain old and new alarm systems. If I were ever to pursue a career in alarm installation, where would the best place be to start? Luke P.S Like my gravatar?

Hi Folks, I guess I've done this before, but not visited here for quite a while and my position has changed since first joining. Having received a Christmas message from James, and with his help managing to get hooked up again (thanks again James) I just thought I'd better fill in the gaps. As I have stated in the 'about yourself' part of me profile, in a nutshell, what 'appened was, in 1983 I started an alarm business (initially working evenings and weekends on alarms) whilst working full time in a different industry. Eventually the part time job became very much full time, so I left the original full time occupation. Carried on building up the alarm business with…
