Automatic garden and hanging basket watering system

Lol I've just been doing a pir activated motorised valve jobby, issue with the solenoids are hammer when they are activated.

Solenoids are OK and cost effective but they shut the water off suddenly and this has potential to exaggerate any weak points, tbh for 10mm I doubt it'll be an issue. 

I've used these with the manual override due to the application, cheap and cheerful.

Gets brittle but lots of pubs use it? Guessing maybe uv rated but probably not due to it not being critical?

What timer are you using and what voltage is the solenoid? 

 

Eta just seen the remote, I have a similar one in the garage, little 12v relay and 2 remotes marked A and B iirc, bang good special.
