My first choice would be this quad detector:

Easily available online for around a tenner each. Great value imo.

If you are thinking about updating the panel it depends on what options you require. If like most you would like to control your intruder system by using an App then the Pyronix Enforcer HomeControl+ would be ideal. This may be a little expensive though and you would also need a expander for your detectors. Certainly worth considering though imo.

As for a straight swap for you Abacus the the Pyronix Euro Mini would take some beating. Again easily available online for approx £65 which is outstanding value.

Btw i am not a Pyronix Rep but have been installing their equipment for 15 years and highly recommend it.

Second the Pyronix Quad.

Pryronix Euro 46 is now APP compatible.

  • Everyone thinks that DT's are better and they are in the right environment, which is usually a more hostile environment than a house. I would use quads every-time over DT's in a domestic environment.

Nope needs to be euro46 app version. You lose intelligent set too.

Ok cheers.

Everyone thinks that DT's are better and they are in the right environment, which is usually a more hostile environment than a house. I would use quads every-time over DT's in a domestic environment. Apart from in the garage, even then depending on the environment of the garage, you could sleep in mine on a cold winters day no problem so a quad is fine.

Yup had a Siemens IR240 in a garage (one uninsulated wall and the door, rest part of house) on one job against my feelings at the time,

been fine for ten years, panel set daily. Of course, it's been dissed for 9 of those years :hmm: (joke)

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

Bosch BluLine or Optex, would be my brands of choice.

Wouldn't fit a sensor without sealed optics.
