  1. As Yeti says forget PIR's and if the building vibrates on windy days then Vibration sensors will false alarm. Contacts on the entry/Exit and good quality beams round the building would be my advice. What panel are you using?
  2. Looks like the power wires have shorted in the keypad and blown a fuse in the panel. With the keypad playing up I would advise a replacement panel/keypad/bell.
  3. First down power the panel and switch back on to see if the blue LCD keypad goes through its startup. If you are getting the same you get the 6 wire keypads but they are not blue LCD.
  4. Tbh its not a bad panel. They have upgraded the sensors and a neat looking panel. Programming can be a bit of a nightmare but if you have it set up then just install you should be good.
  5. I can see problems arising for payment! If the other company has everything signed off then they will want paid, you taking out their system and installing yours and you will want paid. Well done for getting the work back.
  6. If the battery voltage is below 11.8v the alarm will notify you with a fuse/battery fault. put the battery onto the panel and leave for a few hours then test with meter. To truly see if you have a duff battery it needs to be tested for Amp Hours aswel.
  7. Looking at the Risco store they only sell the Novagard 4 Merit external bell. It just has the 1 piezo.
  8. As above. You would have saved a lot of time and effort.
  9. No Prbs. A 12v 2.1AH rechargeable battery will do the job. Screwfix part no 20080
  10. Left hand side of the circuit board marked Hold Off. Unscrew wire take out, bell rings put wire back in, bell stops.
  11. The system just needs a service. With it being wireless I would change all batteries in the detectors once a year. You can get a new panel battery from your local city electrical or Screwfix etc. Depending on how the panel is programmed the wireless low battery is set to notify you every 12 hours as standard. Remember when you have changed the detectors batteries you have to wait 2 minutes then walk in front of them to send the tamper restore back to the panel. With the door contacts change the battery and open/close the door to send back the tamper restore to the panel. With the bell take the bell hold off wire out from the panel, if the bell rings like normal then that is ok. I also have been fitting Risco wireless for 15 years and if programmed/maintained properly then you will get no problems.
  12. To be fair you could easily get the info you require just by searching google.
  13. Panel ov A to ov bell boxPanel 12v+D to 12v+bell boxPanel trigger B to bell ,bell boxPanel tamper return T to T bell boxPanel strobe -ov to St bell boxPut wire link from ov in bell box to the other T terminal
  14. If it is wireless there may be a sleep time on the PIR. Install the battery and leave the room for a few minutes then enter room and trip the detector to send the tamp restore back.
  15. I have had this fault before and after re programming the system all was fine until 3 months later when it happened again. I would suggest an upgrade to a newer panel.
  16. If the installer is used to installing Risco i would go for the Agility or if you want a nice keypad the Risco Lightsys system has slim touch keypads. The app is great to use. I install Risco and if installed and programmed right then they are reliable panels.
  17. The above looks good to me. As for monitoring although double the price i would advise Dualcom as if your phone line is cut then the digi will not report. You could ask him about the digiair communication that mimics the phone line and is cheaper.
  18. The Risco Gardtec CPX,490 and 600 panels use 1 way detection when you add the wireless receiver to them.
  19. Depends what panel. Menu 139 test/dianostics?
  20. Your panic button may require a small key to reset it or if the key is lost open the button up and push the button up the way, screw back and press restore on the panel.
