  1. I would go for the newer 7216 hghi-sh then you can reuse any analogue cameras you already have, and upgrade to 1080p hd-tvi cameras on any channel plus you can add an additional 2 ip cameras. I might have one in the workshop you can have for the same price as the old analogue hwi one.
  2. Disposable payg sim and magnetic van signage
  3. you should still get a wee router, something like a tplink 3420, then stick a dongle in the usb with a payg 3 simcard with £30 or so on it and set the router for 3g failover and spoof the mac on the wan port and you have yourself a nice bit of connection path redundancy, and you can change servers to your hearts delight and not have to worry about nics etc.
  4. If your paying my standard hourly non contract rate i'll happily hang mirrors, walk dogs, try to play saxsmaphone, so yes checking over a diy install would not be a problem.
  5. Better choice than the scantronic imo. There is better kit out there than the risco, but tbh as long as your installer is competant and experienced that is what really matters, the quality of install and support makes the biggest difference in the end. Good luck.
  6. And yet in numerous other thread you wont accept straigh answers you keep going on and on and on about only taking gospel proof from those sexy professional admin.
  7. Its out, gprs only at the mo, i've fitted 11. Its not as good as the texecom one but cheaper and quicker to setup.
  8. Both are low quality imo. For me, budget, pyronix enforcer. Premium texecom ricochet. Scantronic is 1 way wireless, obsolete flawed technology. Risk-o is plasticky and has a high failure rate. Pyronix gear has an annoyingly high part failure rate too, but at least it is cheap, and user friendly. Galaxy is quality kit but not as refined for home use as texecom.
  9. Or use a router to do the dhcp, but point the default gateway to the 2nd nic of yhe machine with the virgin nic in it, then bridge the connectons. I have done that before but cant remember the pecifics at the mo, have had a fewbeers:)
  10. Use a router with firmware on it that allows you to do mac address spoofing on the wan port?
  11. Maybe arf had a stroke and forgot who he was.
  12. I got the idea from one of roger mellies great new ideas for a tv show.
  13. Does the wifi mean you can stick it on tinternet as a webcam, maybe behind a paywall? Wheres norman, i have a business proposition.
  14. You could dig a pond and install sharks with frikkin lasers on their heads.
  15. Thats what the cheese toastie wants you to think, but we know the truth.
  16. Maybe cut the hold off. Battery should be dead by now
  17. Just emphasising the relevant areas for the benefit of the terminally hard of thinking. Sorry to dissapoint but no slipping into full cornish mode here.
  18. You do realise professional advice is paid for, under a contract of sale, all this stuff here in the forums is just chit chat and opinions?
  19. If you really want to prove it buy a dvb-t dongle, hack the drivers and install sdr# and do the grunt work yourself.
  20. You had irrefutable proof in post 4. You walk around the house on a 2 way system, leds on DETECTORS do not light up as you walk round, then put the panel in walk test and walk round and leds on DETECTORS light up now. If this is not clear proof the panel is signalling back to the detectors to activate them then i can only assume whoever is asking the question over and over again is somewhere on the autistic spectrum.
  21. None in my garage, but they are still available at various places part number is MCT-104 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/300836264318?hlpht=true&hlpv=2&rlsatarget=&adtype=pla&ff3=1&lpid=122&ul_noapp=true&limghlpsr=true&ff19=0&device=c&chn=ps&crdt=0&ff12=67&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff14=122&viphx=1&ops=true&ff13=80
