  1. I'll check if i have an old one kicking around. You could see if chubb community care has any left at blackburn or if they binned them, they used them as remote door controllers on old grey box concept warden call. There wer dozens on the shelf a couple of years ago never getting used.
  2. New firmware cameras? Tried changing the password? Or try changing resolution. Is there an option on that nvr to specify the rtsp path?
  3. Do a full walk test and a full functional test as well, after all this blind flailing you want to know its actually working, not just having the appearance of working.
  4. It might be connected to the smoke detectors and there might be a wireless flood detector somewhere or they maybe using it for inactivity detection, a lot of councils have made it a rule that if the sheltered tennant is not getting daily calls to check they are ok then there must be automatic inactivity detection. Its unlikely the landlord fitted it for no reason there must be some requirement for it, either insurance or council rules, removing it is not a good idea if you are going to fit another fit it alongside. Contact the landlord before messing with it to make sure.
  5. It looks like a telecare social alarm unit for the elderly with a security add on. At a guess i'd say its funded by the council or grant money from somewhere and ticks a box as far as social work responsibilities go for sheltered or amenity housing. Since you are not paying why are you getting your knickers in a twist over it? if you require better get your hand in your pocket.
  6. Or at least thats what you told the sub when they walked in on you undressed with their hoover in your hand. Do they do steel toe cap high heels?
  7. I dont know tbh, my training was years ago. Never come across one that didn't reveal its secrets to me via the usual.
  8. All the adt galaxies i have taken ovet haven't been locked and its a straightforward procedure to reset the engineer code leaving the rest of the programming intact. If your new company cannot manage this on an industry standard panel serious questions need to be asked about their competancy to look after it. What happens if you get turned over and it fails to perform? Where about are you and we can recommend someone local and suitably experienced?
  9. Yep my mrs does that when shes on nightshift, override it by pressing B first then leave via exit route and it stays in part set.
  10. any good with electronics? Might be an open resistor. My favourite budget panel is the castle euro mini prox or for a wee bit more the euro 46 sm Features my customers like is the prox reader, neat keypad and the intelligent set feature. It knows automatically by your exit route if your going to bed or going out so it picks part set or full set foor you. Btw i didn't mean you were necessarily as tight as 2 coats of paint, its just a theme that regularly crops up in the diy section. I think you were right to be a bit wary of a £200 figure plucked out the air.
  11. By bum basic i meant entry level. Doesn't do much, but what it does it does well. In your odd dissection of someone elses thead you come up with [quote name="charlie6" post="423383" timestamp="1436357395 Datafussion "...Have you tried to see what happens in Walk test.." At last, a sound piece of advice from a true expert. What does that insinuate about the posts before that one?
  12. I was making reference to requiring engineer reset on tamper. But thanks for saying my advice was unprofessional or that i am not an expert. A great way to encourage professionals to give unpaid advice in their own time to people who can be as tight as 2 coats of paint.
  13. I forgot the 9448 was the bum basic version, you might be ok. Walk test first and report back. Do you have any electrical knowledge? Can you work a multimeter to measure voltage and resistance? But tbh a pro is best. The last thing you want is to cause a short, electrocute yourself or have a system that false alarms or fails to perform when needed.
  14. There is a good chance that it might be set to engineer reset on tamper, which means that when you interfere with any part of the system you won't be able to set it afterwards so you cant test what you have done. Find another professional with more reasonable pricing. Where are you maybe someone on here can help?
  15. Will your current co allow you to compete part time? That was the most stressful part for me until my business reached criticql mass. You need to work out what you do better than others and work out how to monetise that.
  16. Simplified for diy section, but deffo best practice. Would you want to live next door if that wasn't the case?
  17. Your external bell box should have timed out after 15 minutes, it needs replacing too. Ifyou cant reach the ewd(bellbox) then you need to get someone in, and that person can default the engineer code or the full panel for you.
  18. Apologies if you know this already but udl password isn't necessarily the same as eng etc codes
  19. Looks like you are just trying to pitch your products as better than others by giving false information tbh this is just an observation on my part dont take it as offensive but what you posted there makes you look untrustworthy and weasly.
  20. I amn't all that concerned about someone breaking into my cloud theres nothing worth stealing there.
  21. Its carrying the mains, buy an alarm get underfloor heating free.
