Got the artwork through for the new boxes. Thoughts? (Expect Goncalls ) Just as an aside CQR don't charge for the lids, just backplates and minimum order is 10 for printed covers. Doesn't make much difference to us as we go through a few but for a guy working on his own I can see that being an attraction as I believe I have to order my ody 3's in a 40 minimum order.

Can't believe this, did a double take when I opened it up! Not only was this bellbox rocking a huge SLA battery, which fed BACK to the panel too, the sounder is genuinely made of Terrain water downpipe parts held in by Bartol grey drainpipe clips! Panel was a Munford and White. the tiny blue relay you can see is the same odd brand as in panel so did they knock up these little beauties too!? Also as a brucie bonus, check this out for a finger joint found in the airing cupboard!

Only for geeks... This Elmdene quartz has an, er, Honeywell model number. Which doesn't exist online. How very bizarre!

Due to ADI having a large input from the Americans who worry about the HUGE lithium content of it they can no longer ship the Visonic Power max siren batteries! We have a service to do on one, where do the rest source them from?

I know this is an issue of contention on here but I came across this on an upgrade last week and thought I'd share. M10 threaded bar, some nuts and washers and a hefty piece of wood, took a lot of swearing to get it down as the buggers had taken a hacksaw to the threads after installation. Shame the new one is fixed with toggles and made of plastic

We use soint 1's as they are graded as grade 3 but i have noticed in my trade catalogue that the Texecom extension speakers arent graded. Do internal sounders need to be graded? I ask because im very surprised Texecom extension speakers arent graded and it just raises the question for me as i would like to use them as i quite like the look of them.

Last week i was covering for one of our a service engineers and on several occasions when i dissed the power to check the sabu or sasu battery nothing happened. This was happening too often to be a coincidence so he clearly does not do this check. Question is though what faults/problems can be caused by a faulty battery or is the only problem that it would not activate if ripped off from the wall?

Wondered how many people are still fitting Belle's? Been having a couple of brand new faulty one's lately. Strobe not flashing or sounder only squeaks with the strobe. Or tamper switches causing bell to squeak intermittantly as if not making correctly. PCB's have got red hot and smell badly on the offending sounders. Anybody had similar issues lately.
